What we’re about
Songwriter's Cafe is a local, SE Michigan-based songwriting critique group. It aims to dovetail with already established local songwriter groups, as Songwriter's Anonymous (Livonia), A2jammers (Ann Arbor), and others, by providing an additional outlet for members to communicate with each other, month-in, month-out, sharing with each other our songs and, following this, in its critique group format, giving and receiving feedback to those songs. In this way, it differs from open mic events, as audience feedback is central to our events. This Meetup group is for songwriters who like to discuss process and the nuts-and-bolts of the craft of songwriting. I hope this group will become a community, among communities of songwriting circles, furthering connections, enthusiasm and support between its members. Songwriter's Cafe meets regularly online monthly, and hopefully, will in the future support both in-person and online events.
