Software Crafting and Testing Belgium

SoCraTes Kortrijk is an open space event where people of all experience levels can come together to discuss topics related to software engineering.

Attendees create the agenda on the evening of the event, making for dynamic and relevant discussions.

It's a valuable opportunity to learn from others, network with like-minded individuals, and grow in your field. Whether you're a seasoned programmer or just starting out, you're most welcome to join us!

Nobody is obliged to suggest a topic or to do public speaking but it's more fun if you do.

Doors open
Doors open + Pizza: 18:30, it is possible to arrive earlier.
Event starts: around 19:00.

How does it work?
⚡ Lightning Talks (maximum 20 minutes - 5 minutes per individual)
The first 15-20 minutes will be devoted to lightning talks (if any). So if you've got a cool demo, some new technology or just something you think the group might find interesting, controversial or just plain funny, bring it along and share with the group!

Don't worry if you've never given a lightning talk before - this is a great opportunity to exercise talking in a friendly environment.

We have a large (touch) screen that you can use.

🛠️ The Agenda - A group effort
We ask people to suggest topics for discussion.

After the topics are suggested, we put up a so-called marketplace for the rest of the evening. There'll be several 30 minute sessions in parallel and everyone can choose which session they want to participate in.

You have full control of what you want to discuss with the group.

🍕 Food - Please RSVP!
Sweet Mustard is sponsor of this event and will provide pizza and drinks for all participants. Pizzas typically arrive between 18:30 at 18:45, early birds get the best slices.

🅿️ Parking (free)
There is a parking lot with a barrier. Drive up and the barrier will open. There are several electric charging stations available for your car.

De Kade, the black square building, is accessible via a sliding door, which is directly accessible from the parking area. The doors will be open, enter the door to your left.
