What we’re about
Weekly improv theatre workshop bringing weirdness, joy, and laughter to the Seacoast community.
FAQ:
- Is the group open to all ages?
--I greatly value teaching improv to children ( I was a youth theater teacher before I lead improv) however, Seacoast Improv Incubator is an 18+ group. This is for several reasons, but the most important ones are legal and safety related. As someone who's worked professionally with children, I know there is a lot that goes into creating a space that is safe for kids to learn and thrive. I am hoping to one day start a youth group, but unfortunately I don't have the bandwidth right now. I will keep everyone posted if that ever changes! - Is it free?
-- Yes, no one ever has to pay to participate. That being said, there is a $5 suggested donation if people have the means. The money goes towards space rental and meetup fees, and not to me personally. - Is there parking/public transportation?
-- There is not a dedicated parking location that I can suggest. There is paid street parking and paid off street lots near the church. If you are okay walking between a quarter and a half mile State Street becomes free to park.
--The Church is walkable from multiple stops on the COAST bus as well as Wildcat transit. However unfortunately these services stop running before the group is over (usually 9:00pm) so you will have to plan appropriately. More info on portsmouth transit here: https://www.cityofportsmouth.com/publicworks/transportation/public-transit - Are there other improv Incubators?
-- YES! Check out ur sister Incubator is in Portland, ME! https://www.facebook.com/groups/3041397536189708
