We choose venues with heart. Sometimes that means a touch of haute cuisine, and sometimes it means the service is slow or the fries are floppy. We embrace the imperfections—no cliques, no pressure, just great company.
🕊️ The "RSVP" Policy
Please only RSVP to an event if you’re 100% sure you can attend. Your RSVP is not meant to be a placeholder, since our events are small.
Only attend an Event if you have RSVP’d and your status is Attending. It’s your responsibility to check the Event status to be sure there have been no changes to the Event details.
We understand that health and energy can be unpredictable. If you are sick, please stay home.
If your plans change, please update your status as soon as possible, but at least 48-hours in advance to give someone else a chance to attend. If your status is “Attending” and you don’t attend, you will be considered a “no-show”.
No-Show Policy: Two “no-shows” will result in your being placed on the Wait list going forward. You will need to check your status on any event you RSVP for after two no-shows. Please be courteous and not be one of those people who are no-shows.

To keep our community thriving, there is a $20 annual due.
Note: The Meetup platform will automatically remove your membership after the free trial period if dues remain unpaid.

Rumi in the Round - San Jose
The Tech Museum, 201 S Market St, San Jose, CA, USJoin Shannon and five other attendees for this stunning performance. There are limited spots that will go quickly!
### Circle of Light: The Love of Rumi & Shams is an immersive, 360° planetarium dome experience created by Spherical Pictures and directed by filmmaker Amir Aziz.
The 42-minute show delves into the mystical poetry of 13th-century Persian Sufi poet Jalāl al-Dīn Muḥammad Rūmī and his transformative relationship with his spiritual mentor, Shams of Tabriz.
### Key Features of the Experience
- Visuals: Features 360-degree projections of living Persian architecture, sacred geometry, and ancient mystical symbolism designed specifically for full-dome planetarium screens.
- Music & Vocals: Set to an original 360-degree surround sound score composed by Loga Ramin Torkian. It features vocals from legendary Iranian classical singer Ostad Shahram Nazeri, as well as performances by world-music artists including Azam Ali, Hamed Nikpay, and Pejman Hadadi.
- Language: The poetry is sung in its original Persian (Farsi) language to preserve its traditional cadence and emotional power, accompanied by English subtitles projected in the dome and an English prologue.

Los Gatos Arts and Wine Festival
110 E Main St, 110 East Main Street, Los Gatos, CA, USJoin Shannon as you explore the iconic Los Gatos Fiesta de Artes (Art & Wine Festival), hosted on the Civic Center lawn in downtown Los Gatos (110 E. Main Street).
As the Kiwanis Club of Los Gatos' largest annual fundraiser, 100% of event proceeds directly support the local community. Kiwanis is a non-profit service organization dedicated to improving the community—especially for children—by supporting local school scholarships, youth leadership clubs, volunteer projects, and the Kiwanis Special Games for special needs youth across Silicon Valley.
Event Highlights:
- Admission: Free entry (food, drinks, and goods available for purchase)
- Makers Market: Over 200 local and regional artisans
- Beverages: Fine wines from local vintners and craft beers
- Food & Entertainment: Gourmet food trucks and live music all weekend long

Open Studios Preview Show - Reception & Live Music (free)
M.K. Contemporary Art, 703 Front Street, Santa Cruz, CA, USCome visit the preview exhibit for the annual Open Studios Art Tour, featuring artwork from 300+ local artists (I'm one of them)! This is a free event with live music and a reception.
This year's exhibit is larger than before, hosted by M.K. Contemporary Art in downtown Santa Cruz. All artwork will be for sale, ranging across diverse media: paintings, photography, jewelry, textiles, woodwork, etc. etc. This exhibit is a great way to find artists that intrigue you and note which studios you want to visit during the October studio tours.
We will meet at the entrance to the gallery at 2:30 pm. If you're running late, please join us inside. The opening reception starts at 3 pm. Besides snacks, there will be wine for sale and live music by Rhan Wilson/ Jazz The Dog. Looking forward to enjoying some local art with you!
