Hi everyone!! Super excited for our next book:
Acorna the Unicorn Girl is a science fantasy novel (sort of a hybrid between science fiction and fantasy) written by Anne McCaffery, the first woman to win a Hugo & Nebula award. Acorna was published in 1997, and features a girl with magical powers, evil scientists, space mining, and an epic 90s style book cover. It also (warning) does have some themes of child abuse. Based off what I'm seeing online, it is one of those books people either absolutely love or absolutely hate, so it should be an interesting discussion ^.^
Also, when looking for info on this book, it came up on this subreddit called r/badscificovers which is a hilarious subreddit and worth checking out.
Looking forward to seeing everyone & as always new sci-fi friends are always welcome to join!
Best, Amber
