What we’re about
Come out and meet other local runners for great camaraderie and motivation. Some of us jog, some of us run, some of us race, but we all have fun! The key is to show up and give it a try -- the sooner you come out and join us, the sooner you will be on the road to fitness, health, and meeting lifelong running friends!
We’re going to join BBR (Beer Bucket Runners) for a great day of running in the Marin Headlands for this one. It’s always nice running in the Headlands, and the routes have nice variety of terrain. There’s a flagship distance of 50K+, a 19-miler, and an 11-miler -- so you can dial-a-distance. See routes and download GPX files from the BBR Strava page here:
50k+ (~6700’): https://www.strava.com/clubs/1058474/group_events/1993127
19-miler (~3600’): https://www.strava.com/clubs/1058474/group_events/2096591
11-miler (~1800’): https://www.strava.com/clubs/1058474/group_events/2096594
A few more points:
-- Not a beginner run.
-- Limited drinking water: some on the far end of the 19-miler (along trail at Green Gulch Zen Ctr), and along the outer loop (50k+) at Cardiac Hill and (maybe) along Dipsea Trail at lower Muir Woods parking lot. None on the 11-miler.
-- Bring sufficient calories.
-- You can expect that we may get spread out and/or divide into subgroups (many of the BBR folks are strong and fast!) So please download the GPX file for your chosen route beforehand to ensure that you stay on course.
There will be some post-run hang time in BBR fashion after the run. Bathrooms and picnic tables at the start/end area, bring what you like!
If you have any questions, please raise them in the comments section!
If you have a probable distance you’re choosing, please also put that in the comments.
I’m currently planning on the 19-miler or a mellowed version of the 50K (removes ~1,000’ gain and 1 mile, but still gets 50K in)
Upcoming events (4+)
