What happens when we die? Some believe in an afterlife or in rebirth. Some believe consciousness ends. Others are unsure, and some have changed their minds over the years.
This session is a place to talk openly about how we see death, where those views came from, and how they shape the way we live. No one is asked to defend a position.
We’ll explore questions like:
What is your own sense of what happens after we die, and where does it come from?
What do you hope happens when you die? How does that compare with what you actually expect?
How has your view of death changed, or stayed the same over your life? Tell us about something that shaped it.
How does the way you think about death, or about not knowing, show up in the way you live day to day?
A note on respect: this is a discussion, not a debate. Members hold religious, spiritual, and secular views, and no view is treated as the right one here. We ask everyone to listen with curiosity and to share their own view without trying to persuade anyone else.
A Note on Time: A reminder that this session belongs to everyone equally. We'll be mindful of time throughout — both during introductions and in the discussions that follow — so that no single passion dominates the session at the expense of another.
A note on attendance: seats are limited to 8 so that everyone has time to speak. An unexcused absence takes a seat from someone on the waitlist. If your plans change, please let us know as early as you can so we can offer your place to someone else.
