What we’re about
Dedicated to those photographers who like to connect with other photographers to share one another's work and attend photography outings.
This group is for people serious about the pursuit of photography. It is for people who want to grow and develop their skills and are receptive to learning from one another. You should have experience and know the fundamental principles of photography.
Although you don't have to be an advance photographer, you should demonstrate a sincere and serious interest in photography.
"When people look at my pictures I want them to feel the way they do when they want to read a line of a poem twice."

See all- Sunflowers and Zinnias at Bowman OrchardsBowman Orchards, Rexford, NY
This is a last minute meetup to visit Bowman Orchards in Clifton Park. Address and website at: Bowman Orchards (147 Sugarhill Rd. Rexford, NY 12148)
The Sunflower field is somewhat small but very picturesque. Also, there is really nice abundance of zinnias too. Lots of photo opportunities here for a local photography outing. There are a wide variety of u-pick options there for berries and they may have some early apples.
We will meet at 9:30 (they open at 9:00) at the main entrance area where the store is. The cost for photographs only is $7.00. If you wish to pick sunflowers they charge $2.50 per bloom. You will want to have a wide and long lens.
It will be hot. There is a store and place for ice cream and beverages etc.
Last year I saw lots of goldfinches and butterflies as well.
- Boreas Ponds and Blue Ridge Falls in AutumnBoreas Ponds, North Hudson, NY
Boreas Ponds is arguably one of the most beautiful locations in the Adirondacks. It has stunning views of the interior of the High Peaks Region. Located off the Blue Ridge Road in North Hudson, the route to Boreas Ponds follow Gulf Brook Road for about five miles. This is a unpaved narrow wilderness road which requires taking your time.
Gulf Brook Road is the main route to Boreas Ponds. It's located off Blue Ridge Road, Exit 29 on I-87. Visitors are permitted to drive on Gulf Brook Road, and once you park you will walk just under a mile walk to Boreas Ponds.
After that we will head down out back to Blue Ridge Road and stop at the Blue Ridge Falls. These are beautiful waterfalls and quite accessible via a short hike down to them.
The area is full of boulders so must wear sturdy shoes.
Blue Ridge FallsBring tripod, ND filter, and CP filter if you have them.
You will want to bring a lunch/snacks and water. It's hard to approximate how long we will be. If people are interested and timing is right, we will stop for a beverage and bit to eat on way back. Likely in Schroon Lake. Let's hope weather cooperates as this is a great way to spend an Autumn day.
- CHANGE OF DATE: "Picture This: A Sharing Session for Photographers"Needs location
Welcome once again to a photographic rendezvous where you will enjoy visual masterpieces from your fellow shutterbugs!
We are happy to share that we are devoting another evening to share our favorite images with one another. Pick the three images you most want to share. Does your image tell a story? Does it showcase your skills? Is it a great composition? You decide! This is not a competition but rather, an opportunity to be "seen". Please be prepared to tell us just a little about why you choose that particular image.
Also, we will start with a short discussion about ideas for future outings.
Our gathering will take place at the Clifton Park Library We will be meeting in the Piracci Board Room on first floor near entrance. Please bring a snack or beverage to share.
Send your three (please no more than three) images to Jason Young at jayoung525@gmail.com and doggoat@msn.com by October 1st. Jason (Jay) will compile these images for sharing on a big screen at the library that night.
This is sure to be a fun meeting and a great opportunity to socialize with fellow photographers!
We will be setting up between 5:00 - 5:30
