(This group is exclusive only to Palencia Neighborhood 50+ gals):
Whether you're new to the area, retired, friends are scattered in other areas, empty nesters, children grown, no children, single/married/divorced/partnered/widowed, work with people you have nothing in common with, or just simply love making new friends, finding new friendships at this stage of our lives can oftentimes be difficult. The purpose of this group is to provide a POSITIVE, supportive, uplifting, nonpolitical, safe place to come together and enjoy each other's company, experience fun and joyful activities together, and have a chance to create new friendships. This group is about connecting, community, laughing, socializing, exploring, learning, sharing, staying active, and supporting each other. We had our first event in January 2023, and since then we have held an extensive number of activities such as neighborhood get-togethers, restaurant outings, movies, beach walks, Bunco events, Bingo, Ornament glass blowing, crafts, wine tastings, pickleball, various games, trivia nights, crafts, tours, sip and swaps, happy hours, learning opportunities, outdoor activities, boat tours, pool parties, charity events, and the list goes on and keeps growing! As we continue to establish roots, your organizers encourage members to continue to host events/activities and to bring your ideas and suggestions to the group for events. The success and sustainability of this group solely depends on member involvement.

MEMBERSHIP:
- ***Yearly annual membership fee is $20 (Meetup takes a percentage of this). Dues are paid through this "Meetup" app after a 14-day trial period. If you decide not to pay your dues, you will automatically be omitted from the group, but you can request to join again at any other time if you change your mind. You will not be able to pay dues until your 14-day trial is up, and then Meetup will notify you it's time to pay your dues. Any questions can be sent to Leah Maltz at lpmreporting@gmail.com.
***Please post a profile photo showing your face for security reasons so host(s) and other members can recognize you from your picture. Remember, this is a private group. If you do not post a profile picture, you might eventually not be able to attend any social gatherings since we need a face picture for organizers/hosts/members to recognize each other at events.
GROUND RULES (MUST READ AND AGREE TO IN ANSWERING SECURITY QUESTIONS WHEN JOINING):

  1. Kindness and respect at all times. (We are here to support/encourage/uplift each other positively in a pleasant environment and have a good time, not to dispute divisive subjects. Not everyone gets along or gels; however, we can choose to be pleasant to each other and respectful despite our differences.)
  2. Please leave politics and other divisive subjects outside of this group.
  3. Not paying dues after trial period = removal from group.
  4. You take full responsibility and liability for your safety to/from/during each event; if a Plus 1 is invited to an event, they are included in this. This group's organizer and any event hosts are not responsible for any liability before/during/after an event. In joining this group, you agree to sign any Waiver of Liability Forms the Organizer may require for attendance.
  5. You are responsible to keep all RSVPs current, including "Yes" & "Waitlist" RSVPs. Please be mindful of your RSVP. Not showing up or canceling at the last minute prevents others who are waitlisted from attending and is disrespectful to staff at venues where RSVP/Reservations are relied upon.
