Start your adventure at Aquetong Spring Park—one of New Hope’s most powerful, awe-striking natural spots. Casual hike 2-3 miles.
The moment you step onto the trail, you feel it: that cool rush of air coming off millions of gallons of crystal-clear spring water exploding from the earth every single day. The woods open up to this glowing turquoise pool, and the sound of the water just hits you—it’s energizing, refreshing, and honestly kind of wild. The whole place feels like a hidden oasis that only locals know about. Plan on 2-3 miles at a casual pace depending on weather. Wear hiking boots. The paths consist of various terrains with inclines and declines, nothing too crazy. We will be walking in the woods with some uneven footing and trip hazards as well as different asphalt trails.
You wander the paths, breathe in the fresh air, and let the spring’s unbelievable energy charge you up for what’s next…

Now you’re swapping nature vibes for pure fun—craft beer, vibrant crowd, and that classic Village charm. Free Will hits you with bold flavors, rotating taps, seasonal brews, and that “this is exactly what I needed after a hike” atmosphere. Grab a flight, post up outside, and just soak in the buzz of the Village around you—holiday music, lights, shops, all buzzing with weekend energy.

It’s the kind of day you tell your friends about—and then immediately plan to do again.
Plan on meeting at the Aquetong Spring parking lot 1245pm. Casual pace hike starts promptly at 1pm. Hike is from 1-2pm. Peddlers Village Free Will Brewing gathering is from 2-4 pm. You are welcome to do one or the other or both! We will follow each other from the hike to Peddlers Village as I have already scoped out a safe drive and large parking lot. The parking lot is behind Mama Hawks Cafe off York Rd for those who know.

Our walk will start and end next to the Delaware River.

We'll meet at the end of the parking lot by the water, near the Harriet Tubman statue.

We'll walk along Radcliffe Street to check out the 12 days of Christmas display. We'll also walk next to the Delaware River for a bit.

This will be an out and back walk instead of the usual loop. Total distance will be about 3 miles.

The trail is paved and well lit. The view of the river at the start and end of the walk is very pretty. There are lots of holiday lights this time of year. We'll also walk past several historic buildings dating back to 1861. Total distance will be in the area of four miles. There are minimal hills.

The Basin Street entrance to the parking lot is closed. Use the Cedar Street entrance instead.

Take a break from last minute holiday shopping to spend some time outside in the fresh air.

We will follow the trail from John Paul Park (formerly "Lower Nike Park") to Bradford Reservoir. The paved trail goes through woods and meadows, then past the reservoir. When we get to the end of the trail we'll turn around and retrace our steps.

We will probably hear gunshots while walking because there is a shooting range in the area.

The sign at the park entrance says "John Paul Park". We'll meet in the smaller parking area at the start of the trail.

We will meet in Benjamin Rush State Park to do an out-and-back walk on the Poquessing Creek Trail. Total distance will be a little under four miles.

The entrance to the park is on Southampton Road.

There are several small parking areas on the road that loops around the center of the park. We are going to meet in the parking area on the far east end of the loop. I posted a satellite view of the park with our meeting place circled. In the picture, the entrance is on the left, and our meeting place is on the right.

The Poquessing Creek Trail is paved. The path that connects Benjamin Rush to the trail is also paved, but the surface is broken and rough.
