One of my favorite hikes, but this is the first time I've listed it as a club hike. We'll start at Huber Woods in the main parking lot near the nature center and make our way through the trail network to Hartshorne Woods. After winding our way through much of Hartshorne, we'll head back to Huber and finish with a loop around Huber.

These are hilly routes and we'll be moving at a fairly brisk pace. Total distance will be about 9 miles and our total elevation gain will be close to a thousand feet. Bring lunch and plenty to drink. It could be hot, so I recommend bringing at least 48 ounces of water or sports drink. Don't sign up unless you know you are capable. This will be a joyful grind. :-)

There will be a short stretch of road walking on this hike.

Please arrive 10 to 15 minutes early to use the bathroom, sign in, and hear the safety talk.

Four mile moderately paced hike through the woods with mostly paved paths. Elevation of a few hundred feet at one point, Steady rain will cancel. Leader-Tim Titus 609-923-6344

Baldpate mountain, part of the volcanic Sourland Mountain Ridge, it is the highest point in Mercer County. We will hike 8-10 miles at a MODERATE to BRISK pace with approximately 1500 feet plus of elevation. Trails range from continuous steep rocky inclines, packed dirt, heavily rooted, climbing over tree trunks and possibly fording a creek on rocks. This is a fairly challenging hike overall, NOT a beginners hike. See pictures below. Good sturdy waterproof hiking shoes and TICK repellent are a must. Be sure to look at photos below for the type of terrain we will encounter. We will also take in some history as well! There will be several short brakes and a lunch break on the banks of Fiddlers Creek.
PLEASE NOTE: Picture of old house below is where our parking area is located. Just turn into the driveway 1586 River Rd ( Rt 29). 14.5 mile marker or about 3 miles north of Washington's Crossing.
