What we’re about
THIS IS A PEER-LED GROUP. PLEASE READ DISCLAIMER BELOW FOR DETAILS.
Are you looking for community and craving REAL connection?
Or perhaps you're seeking a safe, nonjudgmental space to share what's on your mind?
This group brings together adults from all walks of life to share, listen, and support one another through everyday struggles — honestly, openly, and without pressure.
All adults are welcome—regardless of religion, background, sexuality, race, or any other factor. We come together as equals in this community.
You might be wondering what a typical group meeting looks like. Here’s the general format:
At the beginning of each session, we’ll go around the room for a check-in. Everyone will say their name, answer a simple icebreaker question, and either suggest a topic they'd like the group to discuss or let the group know they'd prefer to do a personal sharing.
What’s a personal sharing?
It’s when someone opens up about a struggle they’ve experienced in the past, are currently facing, or anticipate in the future. You are also welcome to share a success story, or even simply an interesting story about yourself.
This group is what you make of it.
If you’re looking for advice from peers, you’ll receive it.
If you just need a space to vent, you’ll be heard.
If you prefer to attend and not share at all, that’s perfectly okay too.
We typically focus on things like stress, burnout, relationships, life transitions, connection, insights, and emotional well-being, with space for mental health topics to come up naturally.
ONE-ON-ONE PEER SUPPORT CONVERSATIONS ARE AVAILABLE. Email me at kvazquez368c@gmail.com is interested.
GROUP GUIDELINES:
- Lead with kindness and tact.
When giving feedback or responding, keep it gentle and respectful — no harshness, judgment, or criticism. - We’re not here to “fix” anyone.
Everyone’s journey is their own. Our goal is to listen, support, and create a space where people feel safe to share openly. - Let people finish before speaking.
Please don’t interrupt or talk over others. Save any questions or responses until the person sharing is completely finished. - Keep politics out of discussion.
This is a safe space for people of all backgrounds and beliefs. Let’s focus on shared understanding and support. - Phones put away, please.
Keep phones out of sight during group. If you need to use your phone, step outside quietly and rejoin when you’re done. - Respect differences.
Differing opinions are totally okay — just remember to stay kind, open-minded, and respectful even when you disagree. - Sharing is always optional.
You never have to speak if you don’t want to. “Passing” is always welcome — listening is participation, too. - Confidentiality matters.
What’s shared in group should stay in group. While confidentiality can’t be guaranteed, it’s a promise we make to ourselves and each other to respect everyone’s privacy. - Take care of yourself.
If something feels heavy or overwhelming, it’s always okay to step outside for a breather and come back when you’re ready. - Share the space.
We have a limited time together, so please be mindful of how long you speak. Make room for others who might also want to share.
IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER:
I am not a therapist or licensed professional of any kind. I’m a human being, just like you, seeking to build community and make grounded, human support accessible for all. While I have personal experience participating in and facilitating similar groups, I do not have any clinical training or professional credentials.
This is a peer-led support group and is not a substitute for professional therapy, counseling, diagnosis, or crisis intervention. I fully encourage anyone who feels the need to seek help from a licensed professional.
No one in this group—including myself—is responsible for your well-being. If asked, I can share a simple list of local or online professional resources. This list is offered as a courtesy, based on basic public research. I do not personally endorse or vet any specific provider, and it is your responsibility to evaluate whether a resource is right for you.
By joining this group, you acknowledge that participation is voluntary, peer-based, and not a form of professional care. We’re here to support each other in community—but ultimately, each of us is responsible for our own journey. The hope is that no one has to walk that path alone.
