๐ WINTER HIKES โ 8:00 AM ยท Every Saturday ๐ SUMMER HIKES โ 7:30 AM ยท Every Saturday ๐ DISTANCE โ 5 to 9 miles ยท About 2 hours
We just turned one year old and have built a solid group of people who show up, put in the miles, and enjoy good conversation along the way. That's really what this is โ a hike with good people. No experience required, no fitness test, no pressure.
We start together and we finish together. Bring your dog, your partner, a friend, or just yourself. All skill levels welcome.
We're loosely guided toward 45 and up, but anyone with a good attitude and a willingness to move is welcome here.
One thing โ we're punctual. The posted parking spot is where we meet. Hikes are announced by Tuesday evening each week, so check the location carefully before you head out. Maps and pins don't always agree.
Most Saturdays, breakfast is scheduled afterward at a local spot โ posted separately as its own Meetup. The hike and breakfast are independent of each other. Come to one, come to both, entirely up to you.
Sign up and join us on the next one.

2090 Falls River Ave, 2090 Falls River Ave, Raleigh, NC 27614, USA, Raleigh, NC, USYour journey begins at the shaded Falls River Greenway Trailhead where you step onto the smooth, paved path of the Abbotts Creek Trail
The trail winds gently through a quiet wooded corridor, crossing scenic boardwalks and following the lazy curves of the creek. It is a peaceful, flat stretch that lets you warm up your legs over the first two miles.

Reaching the 469-foot summit, the trees fall away to reveal a spectacular, sweeping 360-degree panoramic view of the Raleigh area and the distant city skyline.
After soaking in the views at the peak, you loop back down to the base and rejoin the Abbotts Creek Trail , enjoying a familiar, easy two-mile cool-down walk through the trees back to your car.Start at the Falls River Paved Trailhead (approx. 6.5โ7 miles total)
