Make Salt Lake

In this class, you will learn how to model your own functional parts using Autodesk Fusion 360 as we walk through the process of creating a desk organizer. Our instructor will guide you through the process step by step, tool by tool.

IMPORTANT
This is an ONLINE course. We will send you the link to join the class on the day of the session.
A PDF instructional guide will be provided before the class so you can follow along and visualize all of the steps we will take to complete the part. A fully dimensioned drawing of the part will also be provided.

Disclaimer
Since this is a single-day class, we will move through the curriculum quickly, and one-on-one assistance will be limited. If you are not confident in computer navigation and learning new systems, you may struggle to keep up.

Instructions for Getting Fusion 360 (Must be completed BEFORE the class)
Follow this link to the Autodesk website, click “Get Fusion 360 for personal use,” then follow the prompts to create an account and download the program. You must have Fusion 360 up and running, and be signed in by the time class starts, as we want to avoid wasting any time on setup.

Additional Information
A second monitor and mouse rather than using a trackpad are highly recommended. These will make it easier to follow along while navigating the program.

In this class, you will learn to use the FormLabs 3D Resin printers. We will cover the advantages and trade-offs of Resin printers over FDM 3D printers. Once this course is completed, you will gain the know-how to begin creating your own figurines and parts in precise detail. Our instructor will guide you through the process step by step, tool by tool.

After the successful completion of this class attendees will be given a certificate allowing them use of the Resin 3D Printers with a paid Make Salt Lake membership. Please note this class does not grant access to the FDM 3D Printers.

Ages 10 and up. Minors must take class with a legal guardian.

This class will take you from zero level to feeling comfortable using our Viking Topaz 50 Embroidery Machine. By completing this course you will just be able to digitize your designs and execute them on the machine. This is a complete package for beginners and existing users who are interested in learning professional level embroidery with Hatch software. We also explain about lettering and monogramming in the course. After completing this course it will be very much possible to work on your own embroidery projects.
