Gather in Hawthorn: STEAM, Art, Food
Sat, Jul 18, 1:00 AMJuly is for the letter G! It was a bit tricky coming up with ideas, but with the help of member feedback, we managed to curate some intellectually stimulating and aesthetically pleasing venues within walking distance of Glenferrie train station. **ITINERARY** 11am: Meet at entrance of National Communications Museum (375 Burwood Road, Hawthorn). Enjoy the exhibitions and informative displays, including a trip back in time to remember how we used to communicate before smartphones and wifi. 12pm: Reconvene to walk over to Town Hall Gallery to view the exhibitions. 12.45pm: Time for lunch. Plenty of options on Burwood Road and around the train station. Let's enjoy great food and introvert-friendly conversation together. 2pm: End of outing. **ABOUT NATIONAL COMMUNICATION MUSEUM:** (Source: https://ncm.org.au) National Communication Museum is a unique Melbourne experience, where visitors are invited to consider everyday items that have become essential to our lives in a new light. NCM invites visitors to contemplate new and old technology, interact with the items on display and explore old communication concepts as well as look toward the future of communication technology. NCM is two levels of informative displays with the first level hosting exhibitions on new and evolving technology and concepts, and the second level reminiscent of how far technology has come, displaying the devices we all know and have loved. **ABOUT TOWN HALL GALLERY:** [Town Hall Gallery | Boroondara Arts | City of Boroondara](https://www.boroondara.vic.gov.au/boroondara-arts/visit-us/town-hall-gallery) [Exhibitions and visual arts | Boroondara Arts | City of Boroondara](https://www.boroondara.vic.gov.au/boroondara-arts/whats/exhibitions-and-visual-arts) **COST OF OUTING:** There is an organizer fee of $10 per person. You can bring cash on the day or PayID me at 0403 413 056 (Serena Low). Cost of food and drink is at member's own expense. **GETTING THERE:** The closest train station is Glenferrie which is on the Alamein/Lilydale line.

11 July: Figurine Painting and Friends-Social
Sat, Jul 11, 3:00 AM**✨Are you tired of making ‘how are you’ friends? This event is for you!✨** 🎨What better way to build and deepen connections than through a fun activity like **Figurine painting**! There are many social events but it isn’t easy to feel connected to someone in a large group setting. I am super extroverted yet found myself walking home after a great social feeling more lonely, because of all the superficial connections made. I started Hue&Crew to help people build their next close-friend circle based on age, personality and interest! 🎨**What to Expect** This isn’t a big mixer event, every event has a limit of 6 people per table and a fishbowl full of conversation starters to help people get started! We move around Melbourne's many beautiful cafes weekly to keep things fresh! Expect: * A fresh, comfy venue * A hosted structure so you’re never left awkwardly quiet * A fishbowl of conversation starters for the introverts * A relaxed atmosphere where you can genuinely be yourself * Hand-painted figurines you made yourself to bring home Each group is curated to feel natural, matched by age, interest and personality 🎨**Notice before you sign up:** As the events are really small and it might take some time to form a group with similar interests, we will inform you when there is a suitable group for you! **RSVP now:** [https://forms.gle/4MN6oygujee9qmej9](https://forms.gle/4MN6oygujee9qmej9) **Take a look at our instagram page to see past public events**👇 [https://www.instagram.com/reel/DXY8PXADXsm/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==](https://www.instagram.com/reel/DXY8PXADXsm/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==) **Bring a friend for a 10% Discount for the both of you!**

Fri, Jul 10, 12:30 AM👇This workshop requires a fee & deposit before the meet-up, please read all below before you hit the button👇 Hello art lovers, for this meet-up, we’ll use water-based acrylic paints to create a small artwork that you can take home and display. Each session includes a live demonstration from me, so beginners are absolutely welcome! The group is intentionally small, which means there is plenty of time for questions and individual guidance:-) Recent themes we've done include: A lakeside scene inspired by Ballarat A picture of flowers, "I want to display" Let me know what you would like to try :-) Upcoming sessions • Friday 10 July — 10:30am–1:30pm • Saturday 11 July — 2:00pm–5:00pm **Place** Brunswick West (private home studio space – exact address provided after booking via message) **Fee** $50 AUD All materials included. You only need to bring: • a drink • a lunch or snack(if you need) • a bag to carry your artwork home The finished painting is approximately A5 size. If you’d like to join, please send me a message with: 1\. Your name 2\. Which date you’d like to attend 3\. A short introduction \(your art experience or what interests you about joining\) **Deposit** To help me prepare enough materials and confirm participant numbers, a $20 deposit is required to secure your place. Please make the deposit by 8:00 pm on Thursday, 9 July via bank transfer. The remaining $30 can be paid on the day of the session (cash or PayID). Let you know the details in a message. (It's not a free event, sorry! I'm still using the free plan on this platform...) I’m hoping to create a friendly space where people can enjoy making art without pressure, meet others, and leave with a painting they’re proud of. If you’re coming alone, don’t worry — most of the people join solo, and the group is kept small and friendly! Thanks for reading, and feel free to message me with any questions:-)
