Circular walk via Compton Bassett, Windmill Hill, Avebury, Cherhill Monument

General Notes

Lunch at Waggon and Horses at Beckhampton (please note the change of venue as it is no longer the Red Lion in Avebury), please review the menu online and I'll ring them to pre-book before we start the walk. Bring a packed lunch if you prefer. No dogs please.

A walk to the Naval Temple, Symonds Yat, along the Wye, lots of trees/woods and plenty of up and down

This walk is led by Bea.

A 'Figure of 8' 50 mile group walk from Amesbury, taking in Cathedrals, A Palace, Rings, Plains and Stones.

The first loop takes us south to Old and New Sarum, a royal palace, and some prehistoric earthworks. The loop is 30 miles, and you are welcome to do just the one loop.

After an evening meal stop (There is a Wetherspoons in Amesbury, or you can bring your own), you will be able to restock for the second 20 mile loop from your car. This loop will take us over to Stonehenge, and Salisbury Plain, via the Till, before returning to Amesbury.
