British Government, whom the world looks up to for Policy making and how to run a successful economy made catastrophic errors some 50 years ago in the 70s & 80s by Privatising essentials parts of the economy such as Railways, Energy, and even natural monopolies -Water. These industries did not invest back and the outcome is Excessive prices for consumers whilst the service quality is appalling.

Countries like China have built a remarkable Infrastructure in the last 20 years and now they are progressing towards building Robots. On the other hand Britain is struggling to fix pot holes, sewage polluting rivers, businesses unable to afford electricity and shortage of fresh water.

In short the turtle is winning the race whilst the hare seems to be going in reverse gear.

-Are we still a developed country?
-How do we fix it?
-Can UK still compete with accelerating Economies such as China?

Playful discussion on what happens if Politicians were replaced with AI. It may just happen in our lifetime.

Do we really want to Save the planet or just seen to be trying to save it?

ESG used to be called Corporate Social responsibility, before that Social responsibility aka Green washing

Agenda

-Why are we shortening the lifespan of products? Washing machine, fridges, phones, clothes, mattresses - nothing lasts anymore

- Separating garbage into different bins but exporting them to poor countries who dump them into the sea

+Streaming music - burning data centre electricity and water. Why can't we just download it permanently?

+Switching to paper straw but blowing up oil wells
+1 million passengers up in the air at any given time
+Trees being cut so that we can drink our coffee in a paper cup

- Shall we blame the Governments and businesses? Surely, us the people have no contribution in the slaughter of our planet

- Profits above the Planet - surely we need to squeeze the planet in order to keep the economy going?
