London 20 & 30s Community | The Great Friendship Project

It's back! On 6th November, we're back with one of our most unique evenings of Friday night fun... our latest “Territories” Pub Race 🌍

Like our other board game-inspired pub races, this live-action strategy game takes inspiration from the classic board game Risk, reimagined across 32 pubs throughout London.

This team game is played on a virtual map and each pub is a territory on the map, that can be claimed or conquered ⚔️

Over the evening, your mission is to build the biggest empire in 2 hours.

To claim one, you simply visit the pub as a team and have at least one person in your team buy a drink (soft drinks included).

Every extra drink you buy will add yet more “troops” to your territory to help fortify it 🍻

This is crucial as if you fail to properly strengthen your territories - these can also be conquered (i.e. stolen) from other teams who visit the same pub and outnumber your troop numbers.

Alongside the race - there will also be fun, themed challenges at each pub that you can complete to earn extra bonus troops for your garrison 📸

Some territories are worth more than others, and there are bonuses for controlling entire continents… so you’ll need to plan your route, pick your battles, and think like a pub-crawling warlord.

At the end of the night, the team with the highest total territory value will be crowned champions 🏆

But of course, it’s not just about the game - the evening is also a chance to connect with loads of like-minded 20s and 30s, while enjoying an unforgettable start to the weekend.

It’s that time again! With November here, we're hugely excited to be hosting our latest Social Pub Quiz, exclusively for 20s and 30s 💛

Yep that's right, every month we host latest our very special creative and quirky pub quiz in Central London, just for our community.

And as always, our crack team of quizmasters have concocted a range of entertaining and social quiz rounds, filled with weird and wonderful questions and trivia.

Alongside this, they'll be a range of fun mini games and challenges designed to test your speed, creativity and teamwork - with previous quizzes featuring everything from crafty challenges, poetry duels to Marmalade Sandwich time trials ⏱️

And unlike other quizzes - you won’t need to arrive with a team, as we’ll be matching you up with some friendly faces into groups on arrival.

Best of all, we have some amazing prizes up for grabs and so don't miss out on what promises to be a memorable afternoon of quizzing, socialising, and friendly competition 🤝

Unfortunately owing to limited seats available - always, places are first come, first serve basis, so do make sure you nab your spot, if you're keen!

Set up in November 2021, the project was set up to help 20s and 30s in London meet, connect and hopefully build lifelong friendships.

To help make this happen, we also host all kinds of events from free social walks, games evenings, day trips, social events, activity nights to picnics.

We don’t do boring Wednesdays... and so on 11th November - to spice up your midweek, we’ll be heading back to Vauxhall for an adrenaline-fuelled evening of social fun.

We’ve got a very special birthday coming up… and we’re getting ready to celebrate, as on Friday 13th November, The Great Friendship Project turns FIVE 👏

Yep, it's crazy to think that just five years ago, on a chilly Sunday afternoon on Hampstead Heath, twelve strangers showed up for our very first social walk.

Since then, we’ve hosted over 750 activities across London, from games nights, picnics and brunches to silent discos, helping 20s and 30s build lasting friendships in a city that doesn’t always make it easy.

Along the way, our journey has taken us to 10 Downing Street, onto the BBC and even to collecting a global award for our work building social connection 🌍

To mark the occasion, we’re hosting a big birthday party packed with games, activities and a few little surprises to celebrate five years of friendship and the people who’ve made it all possible 💛

It’ll be a lovely chance to look back at the past five years, reconnect with friends you’ve made along the way and make some new ones too - before we round off the night with music and dancing to celebrate in style 🪩

Whether you’ve been coming along for years, joined us recently or are thinking of trying your very first event, you’re very welcome to join us for this.
