### About Us – London Caribbean Over 60s Outings Group

Celebrating 10 Years of Friendship, Fun, and Community
This group was created to bring together people aged 60 and over of Caribbean descent who enjoy getting out, exploring new places, and sharing good company. Now in our 10th year, we’re proud to still be going strong—with a growing community, vibrant outings, and plenty of laughter along the way.
If you’re not quite 60 but feel aligned with the spirit of the group, you’re welcome to apply. Please note: a clear face photo is required when applying. Applications without one will not be accepted.
While Meetup offers many interesting groups, a large number tend to cater to younger age brackets. This group was created to offer something different—an inclusive space for older adults with shared cultural roots and interests.
We enjoy a wide variety of activities including:

• Day trips by coach or train
• Weekend breaks and holidays abroad
• Theatre and cinema outings
• Meals out, museum visits, exhibitions, and more

Suggestions are always welcome—feel free to contact me with ideas for places to go or things to do.

### Travel Tips for Over 60s in London

Many of our outings involve public transport, so here are some helpful travel options for those aged 60+:

• 60+ Oyster Card For London residents aged 60+ who haven’t yet reached State Pension age. Offers free travel on London Underground, Overground, buses, and some National Rail routes during off-peak hours, weekends, and public holidays. Current cost: £35 Apply via the TfL website or at a station.
• Senior Railcard Available to anyone aged 60+, giving 1/3 off First and Standard Class rail fares across the UK. Current cost: £35 for one year or £80 for three years Apply via National Rail or at any station.
• National Express Senior Coachcard Save 1/3 on standard fares at any time—including peak periods, weekends, and holidays. Current cost: £15 per year plus £3 postage and packaging Apply via the National Express website
