What we’re about
Laughter Yoga is a unique form of exercise in which ANYONE can laugh without relying on humor, jokes or comedy. We initiate laughter as an exercise in a group, then with eye contact and childlike playfulness, the elicited laughter turns into genuine, contagious laughter. It is called Laughter Yoga because we combine deep breathing techniques from yoga with laughter exercises. This brings more oxygen into the body & brain while producing feel-good hormones. This joy cocktail of oxygen & endorphins makes us feel energetic & healthy. Laughter Yoga is based on the scientific fact that your body cannot differentiate between fake and real laughter…you still get the same health benefits either way…so, fake it 'til you make it! Laughter Yoga helps us to create a positive mental attitude NMW (No Matter What!). Laughter Yoga was started by a medical doctor in India, Dr. Madan Kataria, in a park in Mumbai with just 5 people in 1995. Today, there are over 15,000 Laughter Clubs in over 100 countries around the world!
Dana has been leading regular Laughter Yoga classes since 2010. In addition to the FREE, weekly Monday night Zoom class, Dana leads Laughter Yoga events for corporations, private parties and at yoga festivals up and down the East coast.

Laughter Yoga is a unique & gentle form of exercise in which we combine breathing techniques from yoga with laughter exercises. This brings extra oxygen into the body, creates feel good hormones called endorphins, thereby creating a joy cocktail that makes us feel more energetic & healthier! Laughter Yoga connects us to our innate, playful nature. When we allow ourselves to be playful, laughter flows like a fountain! It can be practiced standing or sitting in a chair by EVERY body, regardless of age or fitness level. If you can breathe, you can do Laughter Yoga! Laughter Yoga has been scientifically proven to: release stress; boost the immune system; exercise your heart & lungs; elevate mood; improve circulation; reduce symptoms of arthritis, asthma, allergies & pain; and foster feelings of kindness, joy, forgiveness & love.
