Las Cruces Outdoor/Urban Art Meetup Group

Dress for the weather. Bring your own supplies of water, chair, and paint or drawing supplies.

This church is a mix of architectural styles and additions. The original Kendrick Chapel was built in 1913 and is known for it stained glass windows created by local artist Frank Peacock. The present church building was constructed in 1962 and a gathering space was added in 2001.

We will be sitting outside. There’s no access to the inside or restrooms. 

Brenda at Frame and Art has graciously allowed us to bring our sketchbook for display for one month in July. You may drop them off on July 1 when they are open. You will sign 1 or two sketchbooks in. If you have any loose paintings or drawings that’s fine also. This is a chance for us to highlight the MeetUp group. If you do have anything to sell, please have it be priced, the store will get 20%, and have it be something that you’ve done or at least started as part of the urban sketching group. Let me know if you have any questions. 

When you go into the courtyard of this building, there are two sets of staircases going up that have beautiful tile, there is pottery with flowers at some of the storefront and a fountain. We will be there before the business is open. Bring your own supplies and chair. There may be some shade and one bench. There will be no water source or toilets. When you are done Frame and Art should be open and you can go in and see the display of sketchbooks from this Art Group.
