The Brown Mountain Trail is located between Lake of the Woods and Fish Lake south of Highway 140. This trail connects with the High Lakes Trail to make a fantastic 20+ mile loop perfect for mountain biking and long distance hiking.
During this event we will focus on cutting back brush on a 1.5 mile section of the east leg. We will also rake and remove winter debris from the trail and maintain drainage.
No experience is necessary and participants should be in good physical condition for the work. We will be using some power equipment, loppers, hand saws and rakes. We will provide tools and safety gear.
PLEASE WEAR: Long pants, long sleeve shirt and sturdy footwear.
PLEASE BRING: Day pack, gloves, water and lunch/snacks.
MEET: 9am at the Brown Mountain Intermediate Trailhead on Forest Road 3640. This TH is 3.1 miles south of Highway 140.
HOW LONG: We will work until 3pm.
DOGS: Dogs are permissible and must be under owner's control at all times.
