What we’re about
Yo Yo Yo,
Our attendee-vetted free life enriching event-themed socials for fun dope unmarried child-less independent young working professionals. The place to build authentic connections founded on genuine mutual interests, hobbies, passions and sociable personalities where enriching conversations flow naturally, and experiences and activities together leave lingering memories.
To ensure maximum engagement and fun - we don't do generic socials which tend to attract indiscriminates making it hard to find similar people to yourself. That's why all of our event attendees are pre-screened to ensure everyone shares a mutual passion for the event theme so that every person you meet is on the same wavelengh. We've all be there - at an event enduring time wasting and boredom speaking to 50 randoms just to meet that one or two people you click and enjoy your precious time with.
Here we do this time consuming boring screening part for you offering an optimised social haven for busy affable working career professionals to de-stress from work enjoying what you love with your kinda people. This authenticity is reflected in every event we do including event uniqueness and descriptions written by real people
Our typical attendees are sociable, young at heart, unmarried & childless 25 - 45 with fun hobbies and interests who share a balance of cultural, social, intellectual and creative prowess. If you were too cool for school and people have always been naturally drawn to you, you'll fit right into most of our events.
As well as being charismatic, natural conversationalists and the life and soul of any party - our hosts are witty so if you have a sense of HUMOUR with potential bouts of sillyness, then this will be your natural place. Many of us work long hours doing stressful jobs, in our free time we want to chill, relax and have a laugh doing whatever passion fueled activities we love. Without meaning to sound elitist - if you're a very serious person or extremely introverted - please think carefully about whether you'll fit in - there are other groups that might be more suited to your personality type
Best of all - our events are FREE as thankfully most things to do in London are 100% free. Unless we incur a direct fee from the venue (above and beyond group running fees) - we never charge for any events as we firmly believe access to life enriching hobbies, activities and joy should accessible to everyone irrespective of ability to pay

❄️Xmas Stargazing & Wine With Telescopes + Pub After ☾prov date☽🔭🌟
Camden High Street, London, NW1, Camden High Street, London, GB🌌Ever look up like I do and marvel with insatiable curiosity at both the beauty and wonder of the universe? That wild sobering thought that somewhere in the chaos of creation - the emergence of life - the universe became conscious enough to look back and ask the big questions; How it all started, our evolution and place in it, and where else in the cosmos other complex life might exist (almost every star you see at night has planets orbiting with up to 20 billion habitable exoplanets easily in our galaxy alone!)? 🪐🌟🌟🌟
🌍Then RSVP to view the potential life harbouring moons of Jupiter, the 3I Atlas interstella Comet ☄️, the famous Orion Nebula where stars like our sun were born, the majestic rings of Saturn, the international space station, the Tau Ceti star system with 2 Earth like planets orbiting in the habitable zone, remnants of supernova witnessed by our early ancestors plus a range of other fascinating celestial wonderments (comets, star systems, galaxies) over drinks and engaging chats and banter this Dec fully hosted by me - a passionate amateur astronomer and former Reuters journalist covering big picture science related stories.
🚀In between observing - we'll have drinks and engaging chats on all astronomy related topics for those inclined (Astrobiology, SETI/Femi Paradox, cosmology, space exploration, exoplanetology, astrophysics, paleontology etc) as well as non space chatter and banter too. No doubt I'll hear the usual jokes we've all heard hundreds of times before! If those don't make you laugh, then my impersonation of Los Angeles ET will! 👽
====Joining Astronomers Group & Telescopes =====
I'm able to take a limited number of people (please only RSVP if you can make it) to join my friendly informal relaxed London amateur astronomers' club that have been for over a decade with their regulars made up of up to about 150 people. As there will be people attending from this private Astronomers group as well as others from one of my other groups - the total attendees will be far higher than rsvps here and the public liability insurance only covers a max number of people - hence I need to impose strict limits on attendance.
Over the years we have enjoyed numerous social evenings of stargazing and thought provoking chatter with people of all ages and varying levels of astronomy knowledge - so complete beginners that are genuinely curious about the universe are very welcome. If you are just looking to meet generic randoms then there are others groups that will better cater for that. The world renowed BBC Television Sky at Night also attended our events pre covid and interviewed some of us for it's show that aired on BBC1 in Feb 2019. BBC Radio London (94.9 FM / digital) were there Aug 2023 to cover our meteor shower event broadcasting live to millions of Londoners for 3 hours
You don't need a telescope as you will be able to view through scopes belonging to me and other club members (as long as you behave responsibly and don't temper with expensive equipment). If you have your own telescope/binoculars feel free to bring along and I can help you setting it up if you're a newbie
=== Food & Drinks With Seating From Warm Indoor Cafe===
Alcoholic beverages (wine, beer, cider only), hot drinks and food/snacks will be available to purchase from an indoor cafe at the observation point which Regent's park keep open exclusively for the astronomers group so please don't bring your own drinks
====ITINERARY=====
We will meet outside Camden Station. After a short wait for anyone delayed, I will escort everyone to our observation point in the local park 15 minutes walk away and brief you in terms of what to expect, observing etiquette, tips, equipment handling and take any questions you have - weather general or astronomy/cosmology related.
After Drinks: Unless I have a very important 9AM Thursday deadline for a client presentation or something that I'm still gonna be writing 2 mins before start - most of us usually head our way back to Camden for another drink. If so - I will annouce the pub when we leave the park
===What Can You Expect To See (this time of year)? ====
- Orion Nebula
- Jupiter and 4 moons
- Meteors
- Andromedia Galaxy
- Saturn, rings & moon
- Star clusters such as the Pleiades & Owl Cluster etc
- International Space station fly by
- Venus & Mercury
- Binary & tripple star systems (think planet Tatooine in Starwars!),

As well as offering a rare opportunity to meet fellow music lovers, you'll have the option to sing one of your favorite songs selected by YOU from the greatest tunes of music history with a live band (or if you're too nervous to go up alone - grab me, we’ll make it happen together!) whilst the friendly crowd cheer, dance, and sing along in full support
If you enjoy high octane feel good socials then tonight will deliver a highly fun musically indulgent entertaining night out with euphoric party atmosphere vibes" Whatsmore - when the singing starts; expect symphonies to unfold in harmony with a vibrant crowd of young, passionate music lovers unlocking your doors of perception and connect you to a creative soul that you never knew existed!
Whether you’re a seasoned vocalist or a secret shower/car perfomer, the band will transform you from boring city of London high flying exe by day into a pop star for the night. And if you have a natural sense of rhythm it would be selfish not to show off your charismatic stage presence by droppin some funky dance moves as no rock star performance is complete without!
Of course, you don't need to get up and pertform - if you love music but don't want to sing, you are welcome to socialise, cheer, singalong and dance with the exuberant music loving audence as the rest of us rock the crowd.
Slots are strictly limited so RSVP now for an exciting chance to build melody fueled new connections and conversations with fellow passionate music fans on an unforgetable night out fully hosted till the end by me - a very friendly, sociable & passionate lifelong music fan, radio and club DJ, singer and devoted musicologist with a innate flair for crafting high octane euphoric vibes among a crowd that'll resonate through every chord of your musical being!
=== If You're Singing ===
Most of us are not professional singers - we do this for fun & pure love of music but..if you've never sung live with a band on stage - ideally choose a song that you know the lyrics / musical timing to well
And you don't need vocals like Zara Larsson or Amy Winehouse - but it would be good if you can carry a tune to make it a nice experience for the talented band who are very passionate about their art! Luckily we'll have two experienced guitarists (base and electric), a drummer and two backing vocalists who will help you out if you get lost. Note that song options will be confined to soul/blues, rock, britpop, RnB, pop, country genres spanning multiple decades from contemporary to classics so there should be a song that you'll like to sing (as long as you don't steal one of mine!)
=== Venue & Itinerary ===
This Dec we are back at a music venue where it all started with our first ever rockoake event with same A band several years ago pre covid! A lot has changed since but the vibe/energy in there is still awesome as ever and we a few extra songs as well to choose from!
We will meet near the bar area but I will share my number on the eve and update in the comments section on whereabouts we are/table number.
Most of us go upfront to the stage when the first song drops to offer support and cheers. Note there will be lots of regulars plus members of the public there (about 175-200) so I have to cap RSVPs on here to give everyone a chance to sing.
The venue is located very centralish in Islington zone 1 so very easy to get to. It's only about 8 mins on the tube from Central London (Oxford Circus/Leicester Square).
We'll head of for second part of the night for more dancing, singing and socialising around 11.30PM in Upper Street Islington
