What we’re about
Inner Circle Support Community, at its most essential, is a group of people who are committed to each others' well-being and continued connection. We are a "chosen family" of sorts. We want to be there for each other in both the good and bad times, to the extent that our members feel comfortable participating and sharing vulnerability.
You don't need to look, act, or believe the same way as everyone else, and you don't need to get up-close-and-personal with everyone who participates - but every one of us want the best possible life for everyone from the "crazy uncle" to the "newborn newcomer". What we require of our members is an interest in each others' well-being, and a reasonable measure of grace toward those who might still be figuring themselves out, or occasionally fall short of who they want to be.
We have been doing our thing in one form or another for close to 20 years now. We started out as a group of ex-Christians who still felt strongly about spirituality and community, and that thread continues into everything we are today. Over the years, we've come to emphasize the "community" portion even more than the "spiritual" portion, but it's still there.
Currently, we offer a few different "experiences" that are part of the Inner Circle whole. These include:
- Sunday Gather: Once monthly, we get together in person for a discussion or activity taken from the diverse array of spirituality in the world. We start with a centering and grounding exercise, take turns sharing a little about how we're doing, and then jump into the discussion/activity. Topics change monthly, and are led by any community member who wants to share.
- Game Night: Once monthly, we head to Jenn's house to laugh, eat, play games, and get to know each other.
- Group Support: Once monthly, we have an online group meeting led by Jess, for anyone who needs to talk about current life events, struggles, and anything else that might be on your mind.
- Individual Support: You can also receive one-on-one support outside of the group meeting. You can send a message/ping to Jess to schedule a time someone is guaranteed to be available. While it's not guaranteed that someone will be available at all times, you can also just hop in the "Support Voice Chat" channel, and if someone is free they might join you.
- Discord Server: A server like this is a good way to get to know your fellow members and keep up-to-date in between events. We offer this to members who have attended at least 2-3 other events, so that you know you're interacting with other "regulars".
These are very organic things that our members have volunteered to lead as a service to each other, and we are open to many more. As you find your place with us and become comfortable with the other folks here, we encourage you to contribute your own. That could mean holding your own one-time game night or spiritual activity, inviting the group to something you're interested in trying out, or even setting up your own recurring IC "Experience". Just say so, and we'll help you make sure the info is in the right place.
Thank you for being here. We're excited to walk this path together.
