Ink and Insights Book Club

Welcome to Ink & Insights. We’re a west-metro book club that meets on the third Wednesday of each month at Davanni’s in Golden Valley. We select books as a group and tend to gravitate towards popular fiction published 2-10 years ago, but no genre is really off-limits.

What kind of books do you read?
We read a lot of general literary fiction, but have also read a couple non-fiction books, sci-fi, romance, mystery. 

How are books selected?
We choose books by popular vote of all in attendance at the meetings two months prior, i.e. the March book is selected during the January Meetup. We aim to select books that are easy to find used or borrow from the library (so usually none that are <2 years old).
For a few months we’ve tried to select specific genres for the season (though it’s not set in stone):
January: Non-fiction
February: Romance
October: Sci-fi, Horror, think “Halloween-y”
December: Winter or Holidays

Can I still come if I didn’t finish the book?
Yes, as long as you don’t mind spoilers! The group will still discuss the book in full but don’t feel deterred from meeting and participating if you didn’t finish the book before the Meetup.

Is there a cost to join the group?
It is free to join and attend. If you’d like to support the group, feel free to donate via Pledge on the Meetup page or give cash to Jess. It is not cheap to maintain organizer membership with Meetup so any contribution helps. 
We do not pay anything to use Davanni’s meeting room. Please support them by having pizza/sandwiches/beers/salads/etc while we meet.
