I'm Not Dead Yet --- 50+ Meetup

Take an easy 2 or 4 mile walk at Herrick Lake Forest Preserve .

Use the East lot off Butterfield Road. Meet at 3:30 at the flagpole by the boathouse. East side of the Butterfield Rd. parking lot.

At the first intersection on the trail, return to the parking lot on a different path (for a total distance of two miles) or continue on an additional two mile loop. Flat limestone trails. Leisurely pace (2.5 mph or so). Leashed dogs welcome. Cancelled if it's raining. Get a map of the trails (http://www.dupageforest.org/Herrick_Lake_Map.aspx)

Tony Spavone's Ristorante is located at 266 West Lake St., Bloomingdale. The restaurant is a free-standing building on the south side of Lake Street, east of Springfield Dr., about 1.2 miles west of Bloomingdale/Roselle Rd. Spavone’s website is http://www.tonyspavonesrestaurant.com.

GUESTS: If you want to bring a guest, please send me a message and tell me the first name of your guest. I will update your RSVP if space is available. First names are needed since I will be pre-printing name tags.

WAITING LISTS: Please do not put your name on a waiting list if you are not planning on attending. Sometimes there are late cancellations. I understand that at some point you may want to make alternate plans. If so, please change your RSVP to "Not Going". This allows others behind you on the list to be cleared. If anyone on the waiting list is cleared and does not attend, that person will be marked as a no-show.

NO-SHOWS AND LATE CANCELLATIONS: I apologize to all the courteous and responsible people for posting this. Unfortunately this is necessary due to the exceptions.

No-shows may be removed from this group. Cancellations within 48 hours of the event may be considered as no-shows.

Sometimes there are legitimate reasons for late cancellations. This could include illness, family emergencies, unexpected work requirements, car problems, etc. If you have a good reason for cancelling late, please send me a private message explaining the reason and I may excuse you. DO NOT POST YOUR REASON ON A COMMENT. Your message should clearly indicate why you couldn't cancel before the deadline. Messages or comments merely stating something like "Sorry, Something came up." or "Can't make it. Sorry." are not sufficient. Excuses will be examined on a case by case basis. If you have a history of no-shows or late cancellations, this will be taken into consideration.

NO CHARGE FOR OUTDOOR PLAY. IF WE HAVE TO GO INDOORS DUE TO WEATHER OR ELEMENTS THE CHARGE IS $7.00 FOR 2 HOURS OF PLAY.
Important....Please if you sign up and are unable to attend, update your RSVP. It seems there have been several people signing up and just not showing, we can do better than this. I would rather you sign up Tuesday morning if you are unsure you can make it. Unfair to the club if I say we need 4 courts and only 12 people show up.

Beginners will learn the basic rules and strategies. Advanced players will enjoy doing what we like to do...Play Pickleball AND Continue Learning.

The only Rule is to have FUN! While being Safe.

Paddles and balls will be provided for those new to the game and have not invested in equipment.

Be sure to bring fluids to drink. Gatorade is a great option.

Tennis shoes are best as they are made for the playing surface. Select proper shoes for your safety.

WHEN PLAYING INDOORS, PLEASE MAKE IT A HABIT TO CARRY THE SHOES YOU WILL BE WEARING WHILE PLAYING INTO THE VENUE,
THIS IS IMPORTANT, FRIENDS !!!! Tennis and sports shoes have a way of holding on to dirt, snow, etc. which is then transferred to the courts. Thank you for understanding.
