Get ready for a fun, laid-back afternoon with awesome people from different communities around Amsterdam! This community is participating in the yearly XXL picnic in Westerpark! Make sure that you are in our WhatsApp group before the event starts, because our live communication will be there.

Every community adds something to the event, so we are organising City Walk before the picnic. Join us from Amsterdam Central Station to walk to Westerpark. It’s a great way to explore the city, take some pictures and warm up for the social vibes ahead. Before heading to the park, we go to a supermarket to grab some drinks and food for the picnic.

What to expect at the picnic:

• Bring your own drinks & snacks
• Jam session and Singing Circle for musician, so bring your instrument!
• Play fun games (You can bring your cards, sport equipment etc) or just relax in the grass
• A Philosophy corner. Deep topics only!
• Language exchange. Time to practice your Dutch or any other language!
• Most importantly, meet new people and connect across communities

Details:

• City walk meetup: 2pm at Amsterdam Central Station
• Picnic start time: 3pm at Westerpark. Live location will be shared in WhatsApp group, so make sure to be on it.
• What to bring: Drinks, snacks, picnic blanket, games, instrument (if you play), and your good vibes!
• This meetup will get crowded (100+ people)! If you would like a smaller group, come early, before the majority arrives (usually little later). After the meetup, people go for dinner or party.

Join us for an evening city adventure through the charming streets of Alkmaar, a town famous for its traditional cheese market and historical vibes.
We’ll kick off our walk near Alkmaar Station and make our way through beautiful alleyways, old canals, hidden courtyards, and local landmarks. The highlight of our walk? A visit to the iconic Cheese Market, where you’ll experience a lively slice of Dutch culture in full swing.
Whether you’re here to take photos, explore the city with others, or just soak in the unique atmosphere: this walk is all about good company, casual conversations, and discovering Alkmaar's charm as the sun goes down.

📍 Start Location: Alkmaar Station or Amsterdam central
🕖 Time: 19:00 (Cheese market starts at 19:00, so be on time!)
🕐 Duration: ±2 hours
📸 Great for: city explorers, photographers, and first-timers
🐶 Dogs are not allowed on the cheese market, but you could wait and join the group while exploring the city

Join us for a special hike combining history and nature! We’ll start at Heemskerk Station and visit two beautiful Dutch landmarks: Kasteel Assumburg (with flower garden!) and Landgoed Marquette. These castles are surrounded by peaceful gardens and charming forest paths, which is perfect for photography and exploring. Lead by Paula, who lives in this area for the majority of her life.

After our castles, we’ll enjoy a relaxed lunch break before heading into the Noordhollands Duinreservaat for those who want a more adventurous route. This area is known for its stunning dune landscapes and wide-open nature.

💡 You have two options:

• 10 km (Easy): Explore the castles and surrounding area, then wrap up after lunch.
• 20 km (Intermediate): Continue with us into the dunes for a longer, more scenic hike. This hike will have a little less stops.

This hike has something for everyone: history lovers, nature enthusiasts, and those wanting a relaxed or more active day out.

Reminder: Hike means long walk. The walk is going to take long, but we will have enough breaks to take pictures and eat.

Details:

• Meeting Point: Amsterdam Central Station (8:56am platform 2) or Heemskerk at 9:45. Free parking!
• Final Point: Near the dunes, Heemskerk Duinweg is the road where you can take the bus to the train station.
• What to bring:
• Water and snacks
• A camera (or phone camera) if you’d like to take photos
• Comfortable walking shoes (it can be hilly)
• Sun protection
• A good mood! 😊

Other info:

• Dogs are allowed in the Dunes and first castle area, but not on the second castle. If you are planning to join the dunes, you could do an alternative route to the lunch place with your dog and join us at the entrance of the dunes. Let me know if you would like to bring a dog and which part of the hike you would like to join, perhaps i can help with a solution.
• This is a casual, inclusive, and creative meetup. no photography experience needed.
• Expect easy to moderate walking paths and lots of opportunities to enjoy nature and snap beautiful pictures. But also Dunes and a more challenging (but fun) route.
