What we’re about
Hello, and welcome to Her Adventure!
We are a hiking group dedicated to creating a place for women (trans and non-binary inclusive) to feel safe and comfortable exploring nature. Her Adventure began with the goal of helping folks see themselves as hikers, adventurers, and strong ass humans who can haul their bodies up and over mountains. We're here to help cultivate the journey and sense of community.

See all- Her Adventure hike for women (trans and non-binary inclusive) - Turkey CreekTurkey Creek Trail, Austin, TX
This group hike is open and welcoming to newcomers.
About the hike:
Turkey Creek Trail is a 2.75 loop trail. It is mostly flat with a short climb and descent. This is also an off-leash dog trail, so there are lots of dogs running around. Bring your furry buddy if you'd like! There are some water crossings--depending on how much rain we've had before this hike it could range from dry to rock hoping to wet feet. We'll provide an update closer to the date so you know what to expect. Map of the route available here.Parking:
There is a parking lot at the trailhead with free parking. Overflow parking is available off the road near the parking lot.Optional post-hike social time:
We typically plan an optional social activity (usually involving food!) after the hike. Join us after at Ski Shores Cafe, a 1.4 mile drive from the trailhead (dog-friendly--in case you have yours with you!)About Her Adventure:
We are Bobbie and Katy--two friends who have enjoyed spending time hiking and backpacking. We noticed that when we are in the backcountry, we don't see a whole lot of other women--probably due to a lot of factors (historical lack of representation, marketing, fear drilled into us by friends/family that the woods aren't safe, bro culture, etc). So we started Her Adventure with the goal of helping folks see themselves as hikers, adventurers, and strong ass humans who can haul their bodies up and over mountains. We're here to help cultivate the journey and sense of community.Questions?

Please update your RSVP if you cannot make it to the hike. Due to the increasing size of the group we have capped and sadly due to many no-shows some folks have not been able to attend who were wait listed. We will offer a three strikes rule and then will need to remove those who are not showing after 3 RSVP.
This will help us ensure everyone who is able to make it has an opportunity, and helps Katy and I know what to expect as your hosts. Thanks for helping us with this!
