Harford County Photography Group

Prism shoots are usually free (unless otherwise noted) monthly outings where a location, theme or topic will be our starting point. The idea is to have all the photographers interpret the same theme but according to their own view or aesthetic. We all see things differently and it can be interesting to see which direction each photographer takes the month’s theme or topic. Photos will be shared on the Facebook group so everyone can see.

These outings are a way to help us see things from a different point of view and are led by Beth Tribe, Director of Media. This is a casual, fun, event to help you "see" and hopefully improve your photography.

Equipment - bring your every day, walk around camera or cellphone. Try to stick with one lens but feel free to bring filters, tripods/monopods or whatever makes you feel creative. Think about traveling light as you will want to explore the location. Some walking will be involved and ground may not always be level. Explore at your own pace.

Props To You is a free monthly shoot aimed at stretching your creative and social muscles. Attendees will be provided with one prop and will work as a group to come up with as many different shots with the prop as they can within the time limit (3 hours).
Be prepared to stretch your mind as well as your muscles as this will require a lot of creative thinking as well as collaboration with your fellow photographers.
Rules
1. The prop must be in all images
2. Each photographer must come up with at least one shot
3. The group can utilize anything in the area and anything within walking distance
Equipment
Bring yourself and your camera. Feel free to bring other lenses, lights, etc, but remember that you may want to explore the area to find the best shots, so packing light may be an advantage.

Bring a camera with a wide to moderate telephoto zoom and a macro lens for close-ups.

More than just a snapshot device, the iPhone is a powerful creative tool: a camera, darkroom, and visual research laboratory that allows you to capture and process images in the field, all with unprecedented color, depth, and texture.

This presentation will showcase Karen Klinedinst’s award-winning work shot with her iPhone, tips on favorite image capture and post-processing apps, plus a live demo of her workflow.
