How it works
We meet once a month, 12 months a year, on the same day, week, and time of the month. Each month we cover a different investing topic in the Lifecycle of an Investor—ranging from wholesaling to rehabbing to becoming a bank through private lending.
Our meetings are not sales pitches. They are opportunities for us to dive deep into a real estate topic, connect with local experts in our marketplace, and build long-term relationships with other doers and deal-makers.

Ben Munson – A Heart for Community, A Passion for Real Estate
Growing up as the son of a top-producing Realtor, Ben was immersed in the world of real estate from an early age. With a lifetime of perspective and a deep-rooted sense of fiduciary responsibility, he brings not only experience but also genuine care and commitment to every client he serves.
After earning his Finance degree from the Rochester Institute of Technology, Ben pursued a career in finance and IT consulting in Boston and Philadelphia. In 2005 he returned to his hometown of Rochester, NY, where he obtained his real estate license in 2005 and purchased his first multi-family investment property—igniting his passion for helping others achieve financial security through real estate.
Driven by innovation, Ben co-founded [RochesterApartmentFinder.com](http://rochesterapartmentfinder.com/) in 2007, which later rebranded to [Newdigs.com](http://newdigs.com/), aiming to provide a national apartment listing platform. Newdigs spent three years in RIT’s Venture Creations Business Incubator developing a national go-to market strategy. Unfortunately, Craigslist’s 2012 lawsuit against [Padmapper.com](http://padmapper.com/) derailed its national launch.
In 2013, family became his top priority when he and his wife relocated to Williamsburg, VA, to support his parents during his father’s battle with MDS blood cancer. There, Ben joined forces with his mother at Long & Foster Real Estate, and in 2017, recognizing that Virginia had become their new home, he earned his broker’s license and establishing The Memorie Group, named to honor the career of his mother, Memorie Munson.
Now brokered by eXp Realty, Ben leads The Memorie Group with a service-first philosophy and a heartfelt mission: to help families experience the joy and financial security of homeownership, to educate others on building generational wealth through real estate investing, and to advocate for sustainable development and green building practices.
In addition to his real estate work, Ben serves on the board of the Williamsburg Association of Realtors, and as the founding President of Williamsburg Downtown, a nonprofit organization dedicated to elevating the energy and vibrancy of the historic district. His leadership focuses on fostering growth, community engagement, and revitalization efforts that make Williamsburg a more dynamic place to live, work, and visit.
Ben is also a recognized expert in senior downsizing, understanding the unique challenges and emotional aspects of transitioning to a new phase of life. He recently launched a groundbreaking one-stop-shop service for seniors—a solution Williamsburg had long needed—designed to simplify the downsizing process by offering comprehensive support, from selling their home to coordinating moving logistics and connecting them with local resources.
For Ben, real estate is more than transactions—it’s about relationships, community, and creating lasting legacies. Whether guiding first-time homebuyers, experienced investors, seniors in transition, or developers focused on sustainability, Ben’s passion, integrity, and unwavering commitment to his community set him apart.

Founded in 2017, The Memorie Group was born out of a deep commitment to service and integrity, values instilled by its namesake, Memorie Munson. Over the years, our brokerage has evolved to meet the changing needs of our clients and community. We have developed a specialty in helping seniors navigate the complexities of major downsizing moves, providing compassionate support and comprehensive solutions tailored to their unique needs. In addition to residential services, we have expanded into commercial brokerage, offering expert guidance to businesses seeking to establish or grow their presence in Williamsburg.
In 2025 we made a commitment to provide our clients and community with the best real estate investing resources and community possible by partnering with the GRID Investor Network. This relationship makes world class education and networking available to those we serve.
