About us
Tired of small talk and in search of conversations with actual substance?
Join us at NJ Deep & Interesting Conversations, a group for anyone who'd love to discuss about the meaning of what makes us human, and everything beyond. Our crew is made up of folks from every background, culture, and walk of life, coming together to dig into the big questions that shape how we see the world.
If you're curious about global philosophies, psychology, or the kind of book discussions that go three hours over the scheduled time, you'll feel right at home here. Come connect with people who see the world differently than you, challenge how you think, and remind you why a good conversation beats a good answer every time.😉

A discussion on Stories, Cultures, and Journeys That Shape Who We Are
Humanity has always been on the move. From ancient migrations across continents to families crossing oceans in search of a better life, moving to a new land is one of the oldest stories we tell. Yet today, that same story is dividing us.
Join us for a deep & interesting conversation, and an opportunity for people to come together, share their own journeys to somewhere new, and truly listen to each other. Here, we'll ask the questions we don't always get to ask, and figure out together what we owe one another as people sharing the same planet.
Questions we'll explore:
- Have you ever packed up and started over somewhere new? What did you leave behind that you still carry in your heart and what ended up surprising you most about where you are now?
- What is one tradition from your culture that you grew up with and do you still practice it today?
- What is one thing from your culture that you wish the world knew more about or appreciated?
- What is one small thing each of us could do to make someone feel more welcome where we live?
IMPORTANT NOTE: This group is meant for friendly conversation, not for dating or romantic pursuits, so we ask everyone to be respectful of each other's boundaries.😊
Attendance Requirement: All attendees must purchase food or drinks from the cafe to support the local business hosting our event.
Also, we'd also love your support! a small donation helps cover the Meetup fees and keeps the group going.
Come and have a great conversation with other curious and thoughtful individuals.
If you are attending, please read the guidelines below to help keep this a welcoming space for all of us . Thank you

Discussion on Living Between Two Worlds: The Paper Menagerie by Ken Liu
ANT Bookstore and Cafe, 345 Clifton Ave, Clifton, NJ, USJoin us for a discussion of Ken Liu's The Paper Menagerie, a short, powerful story about a boy caught between his mother's native culture and his American upbringing.
We'll dig into the story itself: the symbolism behind the paper menagerie, the quiet tension between a mother and son, and what it means to live between two cultures, two identities, and two versions of yourself. an experience that resonates far beyond the pages.

See you on August 8th ☕️.ೃ࿔📚*:・
