Friends Around the Table – Coastal Delaware Couples 50+
What's the group goal?
The goal of this group is simple: to help committed couples age 50+ build genuine, lasting friendships with other couples in the Coastal Delaware area.
Many of us have found that making new friends later in life isn't easy. Whether you've recently relocated, your longtime friends have moved away, or you're simply looking to expand your social circle, this group offers a relaxed way to connect with others over good food and enjoyable conversation.
Our focus is quality over quantity. We'd rather create a welcoming community where members get to know one another than build a very large group. If, over time, a core group of couples develops friendships that continue for years, we'll consider that a success.
Who do you want to meet?
The group organizers are a long-term married couple, empty nesters with adult children, who simply enjoy meeting new people and building lasting friendships.
We welcome all friendly, respectful committed couples, generally age 50 and over, who enjoy relaxed conversation, shared meals, and getting to know others.
You don't need to have the same hobbies, careers, or backgrounds—just an interest in sharing good company and building platonic friendships.
This is not a dating, singles, networking, or business promotion group.
What will you do at your events?
Most events will be casual dinners, happy hours, brunches, or occasional lunches at locally owned restaurants throughout the Coastal Delaware area.
Gatherings will typically be small enough that everyone can participate in the conversation and get to know one another. Members are welcome to attend as often or as little as their schedules allow.
As friendships naturally develop, the group may occasionally branch out to other social activities, but our primary focus will always be bringing couples together around the table for enjoyable conversation and lasting friendships.

It's time to get around the table! Please join us at DiFebo's Restaurant in Bethany Beach for the very first gathering of Friends Around the Table – Coastal Delaware Couples 50+.
We're keeping our first event intentionally simple: good food, relaxed conversation, and an opportunity to meet some of the people who took a chance on joining this brand-new group.### The Evening
We'll meet at 5:30 PM and spend a few minutes getting acquainted before ordering dinner. There is no formal agenda, organized activity, or expectation beyond enjoying an evening out and meeting some new people.
We've requested DiFebo's Chef's Dining Room to give our group a more comfortable setting for conversation. The restaurant will do its best to accommodate the request, although the specific room cannot be guaranteed.Cost: Each couple is responsible for their own food, beverages, tax, and gratuity.
Because conversation and getting to know one another are the purpose of the evening, we're keeping this first gathering relatively small.
If your plans change after you RSVP, please update Meetup.com as soon as possible so another couple has an opportunity to join us.This is our first event, so we're figuring things out as we go! Future gatherings may take us to different restaurants and communities throughout the coastal area and may include happy hours, brunches, live music, or other activities.
For now, we're simply looking forward to meeting everyone, sharing a meal, and seeing where some new friendships might lead.We'll see you around the table!
