This book group is for adults who enjoy reading and talking about young adult literature. This month we will be reading No Going Back by Patrick Flores-Scott Told over the course of forty-eight hours, seventeen-year-old Tony heads back to his old life in Des Moines, Washington after being released from a youth detention center, but toxic old relationships and unforeseen challenges make staying on the straight-and-narrow nearly impossible. The book can be picked up at the main desk.
This book group is for adults who enjoy reading and talking about young adult literature. This month we will be reading As Long as the Lemon Tree Grows by Zoulfa Katouh Eighteen-year-old Salama Kassab, a pharmacy student volunteering at the hospital in Homs, is desperate to find passage on a refugee boat for herself and her pregnant best friend, but first she must learn to see the events around her for what they are--not a war, but a revolution. The book can be picked up at the main desk.

Join us with your little ones for a relaxed weekly meet-up designed for parents and caregivers of youngsters up to 18 months old – connect with others in the community, share experiences, and build your support network in a friendly, welcoming space. And on select Thursdays, guest speakers will join us to share information on topics relevant to new parents, from early literacy and child development, to self-care and local resources. Journalist Julie Masis will talk about her new book, "How My Grandfather Stole a Shoe and Survived the Holocaust in Ukraine." The Haverhill-based author tells the story of her grandfather, a native of Moldova, who survived the Holocaust under Romanian occupation, and eventually immigrated to Massachusetts, where he lived to the age of 102.
