The Writer’s Hour: Focused Writing & Community at Fable

Every Tuesday night, we gather in our cozy bookshop cafe for a quiet, focused hour of writing. Whether you're journaling, drafting a novel, penning a love letter, or working on your next blog post, you're welcome here.
We'll write quietly together from 7:30–8:30pm, with an optional sharing circle afterwards for anyone who’d like to read a snippet aloud or connect about their project.
It’s free to join, and no pressure to share. Just come as you are, bring whatever you're working on, and give your creative energy a place to bloom.
A few extras:
- Arrive anytime after 6:30pm for a bite to eat, a glass of natural wine, or to mingle before we begin.
- We kindly ask that all guests order something to help us keep this beloved event going. Your support means the world to us (and our small team).

What to expect from this workshop?
What if storytelling isn’t so much about performing, but about listening? To your body, your memories, your voice? Storytelling is a playful workshop where we explore the stories already living in us, the ones that tug, linger, or quietly ask to be told. Like kids catching fireflies, we practice noticing them rather than forcing them.
We'll teach you how to sense the stories that live in you, how to find the emotional core (the why it matters), and how to shape it in a way that feels true, not polished. We’ll explore voice, angle, honesty and what makes a story land with others, not through performance, but through connection.
You’ll leave with something real: a story you can speak out loud (or at least a seed to follow). One that feels alive, maybe a little risky, and most importantly: yours. No writing, no performing. Just curiosity, presence, and a bit of courage.
About your host:
Corrinke is a storyteller, (self-) published poet, story doula, and enthusiastic olympic weightlifter. For the past ten years, she has worked with entrepreneurs, public speakers, and rebels around the world to find, shape, and speak the story that actually matters. On stages, in podcasts, or just to themselves: the story that feels true in the body, not just polished in the mind.
She hosts monthly storytelling nights where 150–200 people gather to listen, witness, and share. Her work blends story, presence, and embodiment. She believes the best stories aren’t perfect. They’re true. (and occasionally, delightfully unhinged.)

What to expect from this workshop?
Let's step into the world of boldness and unlock the power of unhinged expression in this interactive creative writing workshop.
What makes poetry stay? It’s not rhyme. It’s not clever words. It’s the moment something in you exhales and uses language as a body. In this workshop we dive into the parts of you that want to speak, the parts that were never given a mic. The parts that don’t sound polite, finished, or sane.
We’ll write from sensation, impulse, breath.
We'll play with different voices.
We’ll see what happens when you stop trying to sound good and start letting yourself sound true. Yes, this may involve a little unhinging.
You’ll leave with
- a felt sense of how to write from your body, not your head
- access to multiple voices living inside you
- permission to play, rupture, soften, distort
- and poems that couldn’t have been written by anyone else
- You’ll have the space to experiment, try different techniques, and share ideas with fellow writers.
Open to anyone—whether you’re a professional writer, a casual scribbler, or just getting started.
What do you need for the session?
All you need is a notebook or laptop to write with.
