Welcome! Exploring Shamanism is led by Cynthia Menard, a Norse Reindeer Shaman, Reiki Master, and owner of Inkwood Healing. Our in-person events are most often in the MetroWest and Central regions of MA.
We're exploring our spiritual growth through shamanic practices, including healing, journeying, divination, and energy work. Cynthia offers a monthly drop-in shamanic journey & drumming group (no experience necessary), an every-other-month tarot workshop on intuitive reading, and a multi-level class series on Reindeer Shamanism. Public and private shamanic ceremonies are held throughout the year, along with special events and classes.
Our gatherings explore shamanic techniques to deepen spiritual awareness and development, and all are welcome. Whether you've been on your path for years or are new to shamanic practices, we offer a supportive community where you can connect, learn, and grow with like-minded people.

Shamanic Journey and Drumming Group

Our monthly Shamanic Journey and Drumming group meets on the third Saturday of every month. No experience with shamanism, journeying, or drumming is required - just a curious and open heart!
Shamanic journeying is a powerful practice that anyone can learn and use. Working in the spirit realm teaches us true freedom and self-empowerment. There, we have access to other worlds. We connect with the energy that underlies the physical world. We also receive guidance from our spirit guides and ancestors. Moreover, we gain the ability to heal ourselves at the deepest level.
Shamanic drumming is both a healing art and a catalyst for shamanic journeying. At our gatherings, we will explore both ways of working with rhythm. Participants are encouraged to bring a drum and/or rattle if they have one. Extra rhythm instruments will be available for those without.
Location: The Unitarian Universalist Congregation in the Assabet Valley (formerly the First Parish Church of Stow-Acton), 353 Great Rd., Stow, MA
We will meet in the Community Room - enter through the main entrance and go down the hall to the left.

Runic Study Group - An 8 Week Experiential Journey Through the Elder Futhark
·OnlineOnlineJoin me for a weekly in-depth journey with the Norse Runes, exploring the energy of each stave and aett (group or family) in the Elder Futhark.
In this initial series of 8 weekly classes, we will work with one rune per week, covering the first aett in the Futhark. The second and third aettir will be covered in the following two class series.
Each 90-minute class will explore one rune in depth through music, discussion, meditation/shamanic journey work, and divination. Each series will also explore the energy of the related aett, and how that family or group of runes fits and works together.
Why work with me? As a Norse Reindeer Shaman, I am blessed to have Odin as one of my primary shamanic guides, who has been working with me for over a year on (among other things) intuitive runic study. While my own learning with Odin will be part of what I share, I'm more interested in helping participants understand and practice the intuitive techniques I've learned through direct work with him.
No experience with runes or Norse mythology is required, but a commitment to the work is requested. Registration is for the first 8-week class series only, exploring the first aett in the Elder Futhark. Dates for the second and third aett class series will be announced following this series.
Classes will be recorded for participants’ private use to catch up on a missed session or for review.
Cost: $120 for the full series of 8 weekly 90-minute classes.
