What we’re about

Established originally in 2017 with a brief COVID-induced hiatus, East Bay Seniors is back in action!

We're a group of friendly 60 "plus or minus" folks who love a variety of stuff, including games, coffee, restaurants, bowling, book clubs, crafts, concerts, and exploring anything the area has to offer.

Most of us join and attend alone, but you are also welcome to bring your friendly significant other, friend, or family member! This is all about making new connections, and getting yourself out there!

My name is Marcie, and I live in the East Bay so therefore center my hosted events around there, but we are happy to accommodate meetup members from further out if anyone wants to help me host. This is a no-judgment, all-fun zone to socialize, get together and enjoy what amazing things we live near!

Experience all the joy of Christmas in July, on Wednesday, December 17 at 1 pm. This is a classic screwball comedy written and directed by Academy Award® winner Preston Sturges (The Lady Eve). A workplace practical joke goes awry when an office clerk (Dick Powell), believing he has won a $25,000 prize, takes his girlfriend (Ellen Drew) on an extravagant Christmas shopping spree…in the middle of July! After they discover it was all a hoax, their spending spree turns into a wild slapstick riot. More than just a holiday heart-warmer, this madcap masterpiece is a classic gift of laughter that is perfect for every season.
Film screening will be preceded by a short film lecture by Doug Swiszcz.

This place has a lot of delicious food! From wings, to burgers, to nachos... even seafood makes its appearance at this cozy grill!

I'm limiting the number of RSVPs to 6, so we do not overwhelm the restaurant. That means please do let us know if you can't end up coming even if you plan to initially. And do not show up unannounced! Thanks!

Secret Santa Brunch / Gift Swap

Join us at the Newport Creamery for a fun brunch with a twist!

Come with a gift, about $5-10 worth! Once we get there, we will put all attendee's names in a hat, and take turns drawing names and giving our gift out.

It's just for fun, but feel free to get creative. Ideas can be a $5 gift card to Dunkin (etc), 2 small gifts from the Dollar Tree, a $5 DVD from Walmart, a scratch ticket, anything you can think of!

We will pay for our own checks and tips, so bring your card or cash. They offer a Senior Menu as I will list below, but we can order whatever we want.

A NOTE FROM THE ORGANIZER:

Hi everyone, I wanted to give a quick update. I’m currently dealing with a health issue that involves a lot of doctors’ appointments and an upcoming surgery. Because of this, I haven’t been very present at meetups lately and may continue to be less active for the next month or two (or possibly longer). Please forgive any last minute drop outs.

That said, I’ll still be posting plenty of great meetups for you all to enjoy, and I’ll attend when I can.

Please keep in mind it's always wise to double check for attendees immediately before leaving your house for any Meetup, especially without me there to always host and let you know.

If anyone would enjoy hosting an event this fall, please do let me know. I can post it for you and give you any help and tips.
