Lesbian and Queer Women Pickleball games and social. We are a fun group of all skill levels from never tried it to advanced. We invite those who identify as lesbian or queer women (She/Her & They/Them) to come join us! We usually have one Open Play & Social per month, and weekly play opportunities. Drop in as you can. RSVPs are not required or indicative of turnout.

860 San Pablo Avenue, Albany • 21+Over the course of her career, Jill Sobule released a dozen albums spanning three decades of recording - tackling such topics as the death penalty, anorexia nervosa, shoplifting, reproduction, the French Resistance, adolescent malaise, LGBTQ issues, and the Christian Right, to name a few - with her trademark wit and aplomb. The Denver-born songwriter/guitarist/singer's work was at once deeply personal and socially conscious, seriously funny and derisively tragic.
Jill’s latest project was her New York Times Critics’ pick, Drama Desk-nominated autobiographical musical “Fuck 7th Grade” which premiered at the Wild Project in 2022; had a remount in the Winter of 2023; and in November of 2024.

In August we'll bring the heat to our pickleball play at our monthly Open Play and Social.
We’ll be at OceanView Park in Albany from 11 PM to 2 PM.
There will be 6 courts available:- 1 - 2 for beginner & beginner-intermediates players
- 4 - 5 for intermediate & advanced players
This event is designed for fun and connection—plenty of time for active play, but also to catch up with old friends or make new ones!
Bring your community spirit, a paddle, some finger foods to share, and drinks for yourself. Looking forward to seeing you there!
NOTE TO BEGINNERS: There are no formal lessons given at this social. We ask beginners to familiarize themselves with the rules before coming out if you can. 2 Quick ways to get started:

The Oakland Roots are happy to announce their first ever Pickleball Night!
And that is due in large part to our member Kira S. who works for the Roots and dreamt this in. She is a creative force and one hellofa pickleball player, fun too!
I am creating a group so we can sit together and have as much fun off the court as we do on the court. If you buy your ticket individually you could be anywhere in the stadium. Please email me directly your interest. I will collect names for 2 weeks and then purchase all together. We need at least 10 for a group. Email me your interest and I will let you know how it's going and how to pay for the ticket and paddle.
