About us
The Dysfunctional Clubhouse is a low-pressure social home built around movies, games, odd little adventures, and the radical idea that meeting people should not feel like a job interview.
We started with a simple ritual: sit on the couch, watch far too many trailers, argue affectionately about terrible options, and eventually choose something to watch. That grew into weekly movie nights, game nights, outings, holidays, Discord conversations, and a community of people who might not otherwise have found one another.
Maybe you just moved here. Maybe you recently divorced, changed jobs, lost touch with your old crowd, or simply discovered that making friends as an adult is absurdly difficult. Maybe you have never played a board game in your life. You are still invited.
Come alone. Show up when you can and stay as long as you like. Join the main event, wander into a side conversation, or quietly get comfortable near other humans. No movie expertise, flawless social skills, or prepared anecdote required.
Introverts welcome. Extroverts welcome. Neurodivergent humans welcome. Aliens welcome. Accordion players admitted only with special permissionāwe are inclusive, but not reckless.
Our usual rhythm includes Friday game-and-hangout nights and themed Saturday movie nights. For movie night, we generally watch six trailers, vote together, and watch two winners. Commentary is allowed. Timekeeping is aspirational. We also organize outings, public-location events, holiday gatherings, and whatever interesting ideas our members bring us.
Maybe you just need someone to defeat at Uno. Maybe you are looking for a few familiar faces, a new tribe, or the kind of friendships that eventually become found family. You do not have to know which one yet.
