Making friends as an adult shouldn’t be this hard, that’s why we started DFW Young & Social! This group is all about making it easier to meet new people, try new things, and build real connections. No membership fees, no pressure. Just fun, welcoming events where you can show up, be yourself, and connect with great people.

American Mahjong Social: Learn & Open Play (3rd Tuesday)
DFW Young & Social, 2309 Springlake Rd, Suite 600, Farmers Branch, tx, USJoin us on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month for American Mahjong Social, a relaxed evening for learning, playing, and connecting. From 6:00 to 7:00 pm, we offer a guided American Mahjong lesson for beginners or anyone looking for a refresher. Up until 9:00 pm, enjoy free open play at your own pace.
The lesson is $30 per person, requires a separate reservation and limited to 4 people. While open play is pay what you can / free. Donations are always appreciated to help cover expenses and keep DFW Young & Social events accessible for the community.

We have four extra-large American Mahjong sets with racks available on a first come, first serve basis, and players are welcome to bring their own sets or wait for a table to open.
- Lesson: 6:00–7:00 pm, $30 per person | Head to the other event posting to purchase a spot. Seats are limited to 4 people.
- Open Play: 6:00–9:00 pm | Pay what you can, House Sets are first come, first serve

Beginner Salsa Dance Class
DFW Young & Social, 2309 Springlake Rd, Suite 600, Farmers Branch, tx, USFast-paced, flirty, fun, and danceable to hundreds of today's top Latin pop hits, Salsa is a fantastic dance to have in your pocket! You don’t have to bring a partner! We rotate throughout the classes, so everyone gets plenty of opportunities to dance and meet new people.

Group Fitness Class: Team Based & Beginner Friendly (Free / Pay What You Can)
DFW Young & Social, 2309 Springlake Rd, Suite 600, Farmers Branch, tx, USLooking for a fun, approachable way to get moving and connect with others? Our group fitness class is team-based, beginner-friendly, and led by our energetic instructor, Chelsea. You’ll move at your own pace through simple, gamified exercises that make working out feel more like play. Wellness should be something everyone can access, no matter their budget.
These classes are free so cost isn’t a barrier, and if you’re able to contribute, your support helps keep them going strong:
- $5 Covers the cost of one person in class,
- $5–$9 Helps sustain our free / pay-what-you-can model and pays it forward for someone else,
- $10+ Supports the space, keeps things accessible, and helps our community grow,
We don’t expect anyone to contribute every time. A little here and there truly goes a long way.

DFWYAS Book Club: The Tainted Cup by Robert Jackson Bennett
DFW Young & Social, 2309 Springlake Rd, Suite 600, Farmers Branch, tx, USJoin the DFWYAS Book Club as we dive into The Tainted Cup by Robert Jackson Bennett, a sharp and imaginative fantasy mystery set in a world shaped by strange sciences, imperial power, and hidden truths. This novel blends intrigue, investigation, and worldbuilding, giving us plenty to unpack around power, loyalty, and the cost of empire. We’ll read the book in three parts, meeting to discuss characters, themes, and theories in a relaxed and welcoming setting.
Meeting Schedule (all sessions at 7:00 pm, RSVP required):
- Session 1 – February 18: Start through Chapter 10
- Session 2 – March 4: Chapters 11 through 21
- Session 3 – March 18: Chapters 22 through the end
