The Art Moderne, Art Noveau and Art Deco movements transformed Miami’s South Beach into one of the most Iconic destinations in the World for fun, sun and beautiful people and places. The History of the Movement is displayed at the best collection of its art, architecture and style at the collection of the former Wometco Movie owner Wolfson’s Wolfsonian Museum and the Hotels and Restaurants in the South Beach area which was the sight of many Movies including the Birdcage plus numerous worldwide photo shoots from the News Café and of course TV’s Miami Vice. Check out one the World’s most Tropical Swimming Pools (sight of the Rat pack) at the sprawling POOL of the Fountainbleau Hotel. There has been one special place to dine in Miami Beach since the early 1900’s and we will be lunching at their casual window at Joe’s Stone Crabs known for Lobster, Creamed Spinach and Stone Crabs but a full menu of other choices as well. The outdoor garden and somber but poignant Holocaust display is something moving to see near the Famous shopping street of Lincoln Road. A snack stop in Deland’s Boston Coffee Shop is made on route to the Forest, then a drive through the Ocala National Forest on toute to the Appleton Museum in Ocala. Lunch in the mid afternoon at the Pink Pony in the World Equestrian Center (a sight to behold) followed by the Kentucky Derby in the area in the Horse Community that has bred Derby Winners on Jumbotrons.
The Appeton Museum in Ocala was built in 1984 of Italian Marble by the industrialist and horsebreeder Arthur l Appleton, the museum houses stunning art from around the world. His eclectic collection includes pre-Columbian and European antiquities, Oriental and African pieces, and Meissen porcelain, and is known for its known for it's strong core of mainstream 19-Century European art.Florida Artists

Crystal River on the Gulf of Mexico is a retirement haven that has become even more popular in the past several years. The Ancient Indian Mound is one of the highest and best preserved in the State. Exhibits at the Museum explain the history of the area including a link over the Gulf to the Indian Cultures of Mexico. There are many preserve areas here. The scenic drive to the Old Peck is a wonderful rustic seafood house or lunch at the Plantation Hotel on the River. There are so many scenic Country Drives in this area it may take a while to take them all in. Members $85 Guests $90 includes transportation, guide, entrances and boat ride!
