About us
Welcome to the Childfree by choice Friends in Sheffield meetup! This group is primarily for people aged 30-49 (but we aren't that strict, if you are child free in your 20s or 50s and like the events, come along!).
We gather to enjoy conversations over food, drinks in adult venues. We explore the arts and entertainment scene, and soak up different cultural experiences. Connect with fellow members who enjoy coffee catch ups during the week, staying out late and lazy Sundays because we can.
This group is a safe space to make friends, if you want to talk to people, please come to events, do not direct message them. Any inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated - specifically any racism, sexism or ableism would mean instant rejection from the group. Please ensure you join the group before attending. Events are for members only, if you wish to bring a guest contact the host to provide information about them.
This is not a dating group, it is not a singles group. Couples are welcome. This group is a safe space to make friends, and we protect the safety of a female members above all.
This group is primarily for people who chose not to be parents and don't have to orient their lives around children or young people. We have open conversations about being childfree by choice - nobody has to share their reasons of course. This is primarily our space and should be respected. You can join this group as a parent but we don't hear about your kids. Thanks for understanding.
It should go without saying, strictly no under 18s in any circumstances. This group is inclusive, but some parents or people who are childless not by choice may find it isn't for them. No under 18s are allowed for obvious reasons. if you have any questions or concerns drop me (Kerry) a message. People that regularly do not update their invites/don't show to events will be put to non-priority and kept on a waiting list.
Our hosts organise events for free, in their time, at their own cost. We aim to make enable connections and community. We are here to support you to do the same, not provide any kind of experience or relationship for you directly, that is on you. Please review with this in mind. Please attend events to get the most out of them, for yourself. We hope you make connections like we did.

Peter and the Wolf (music in the round)
Crucible Theatre, 55 Norfolk Street, Sheffield, South Yorks, S1 1DA, GBI don't know whether it's anyone's cup of tea, but - It's one of the Music In The Rounds' festivals this week in May. It's 'chamber' music (ie small group, classical music). I am going to quite a few, but thought this one might interest others. (If you fancy any others - ask me and I'll let you know if I'm going as well).
Programme starts 5pm (sorry it's so early), finishes about 7pm, there's usually an interval.
I am waiting for my ticket, so I don't know whether I'll get assigned a stage level or one of the tiers, so we may not be able to sit together.
I will meet people about 4.30 and regroup in the interval. I also have about half an hour afterwards too (as going to the one at 8pm too).
Grab a ticket (I always suggest stage level) if you fancy joining me.

Ravelโs โShรฉhรฉrazadeโ (in an intimate chamber arrangement) evocatively conjures an ancient wonderland of fairytales and lovers through captivating melodies.
