What we’re about
We are a group of curious nature journalers who love to explore, observe, and document our observations about the natural world. This group is based off of Southern California, extending from Santa Barbara County to Ventura County.
We meet twice a month, either in person or virtually, to participate together in nature journaling prompts and to share our observations. Occasionally, we host formal presentations about nature journaling, art techniques, scientific concepts
All are welcome to participate in our events, regardless of your artistic skill or scientific expertise. Feel free to use whatever language (visual, written, etc) you feel the most comfortable with as you explore the intricacies of nature.
If you would like us to highlight any journal entries that you made with us, tag us on Instagram at @ci_nature_journalers

Nature Journaling @ Goleta Monarch Preserve
Ellwood Mesa Open Space & Sperling Preserve, 7729 Hollister Ave, Goleta, CA, USIt's Monarch Butterfly season along the coast of CA!
Every winter, the monarch butterflies seek out groves along the coast of CA as shelter from the wind and rain. Come explore one of the famous groves in southern California.
With keen eyes, can you find the clustering monarch butterflies that are disguised as dead leaves? Will you find a tagged monarch?!
Be sure to bring binoculars for this event (and a scope or camera if you have one).
