Two Women, Two Evenings
There were two women sitting at the same restaurant on a Friday night.
The first woman’s phone kept lighting up.
“Hey beautiful.”
“Wish you were here.”
“Bet you look amazing tonight.”
She smiled at first. It felt good—she was clearly desired.
But as the night went on, she noticed something.
None of those men had asked where she was.
None had made a plan to see her.
None had followed through.
By the end of the night, the messages slowed… and so did the feeling.
It was intense—but empty.
---
At the next table, the second woman sat quietly.
Her phone buzzed once.
“Hey, I made us a reservation for next Thursday at 7. I remember you said you’ve been wanting to try that Tai steakhouse place. I’ll pick you up.”
That was it. No flood of messages. No over-the-top compliments.
But she paused… and smiled differently.
Because this time, she wasn’t just being desired.
She was being chosen.
---
Desire says: “I want you right now.”
Choosing says: “I’m making space for you in my life.”
---
The first woman had attention.
The second woman had intention.
And over time, only one of those turns into something real.
