Berlin is a city of layers — architecture, history, everyday life. On these photo walks we explore Berlin’s neighborhoods through observation, photography and urban storytelling.
Together we walk through different Kieze, discover architectural details, traces of history and the visual character of the city. This is not a technical photography workshop. The focus is on seeing the city differently.
What to expect:

Everyone is welcome — whether you shoot with a camera or a phone.
The walks are organized by denkmallab, a Berlin project exploring the stories of the city through walks, audio guides and urban research.

Discover a different side of Berlin on this 2-hour photo walk through Moabit – a district full of overlooked architecture, hidden courtyards, and layers of urban history.
We will explore former industrial sites, residential blocks, and in-between spaces that often go unnoticed – capturing not only how the city looks, but how it has evolved over time.
Bring your camera or smartphone and develop your own way of seeing urban spaces. No experience needed – we’ll experiment together with observation, perspective, and composition.Date: 07.06.2026

denkmallab: Heritage Escape #01 – Eisenhüttenstadt
S-Bahn Ostkreuz, Hauptstraße, 10317 Berlin, DEI'm planning a day trip to Eisenhüttenstadt this August, and if anyone would like to join, you're very welcome.
Rather than sightseeing, I enjoy exploring places slowly—walking, observing, taking photographs, sketching, or simply experiencing the atmosphere without rushing. I started denkmallab as a way to discover architecture, landscapes, and cultural heritage through quiet, shared experiences.
For this first denkmallab Heritage Escape, we'll visit one of Germany's most fascinating examples of post-war urban planning. We'll walk from the station through Eisenhüttenstadt's historic residential districts and public spaces, continue towards the Oder river landscape, and return through quieter neighbourhoods. Along the way, there will be plenty of time to stop, take photos, have a coffee, or simply enjoy the surroundings.
This isn't a guided tour, and there isn't a packed itinerary. It's simply a relaxed day out with people who enjoy architecture, design, photography, history, nature, or slow travel.- Meeting point: S Ostkreuz, Platform 13
- Train: RE2 towards Cottbus, departing at 09:40 (Please arrive 09:15 so we can meet before boarding!)
- Regional trains only (Deutschlandticket works)
- Day trip (morning departure, evening return)
- Everyone pays for their own transport, food, and drinks.
