About us
The Upper Bucks County/Lehigh Valley area has become a hotbed of activity in the beer and wine world in recent years and this group will explore this booming part of our local economy and culture.
There are more than 20 microbreweries in this region and more than 30 wineries. Brewpubs, craft beer bars and wine bars are also fair game for this group. We'll learn about the beer and wine-making process and of course get to sample the fruits of our local entrepreneurs' labors.
Expect monthly meetups, tours, tastings and just hanging out, making new friends and enjoying good times, and maybe some scenic views in the process. Whether you're into beer, wine or both, or just interested in exploring and getting to know the area better, this group is for you.
No dues, fees or cover charges, this is a fun thing for me, not a side hustle.
See you on the trail!

10th Anniversary Celebration at Sleepy Cat Urban Winery in Allentown
Sleepy Cat Urban Winery, 1840 W. Allen Street, Allentown, PA, USI wasn't about to let the month go by without a wine meetup so please join us on, you guessed it, the west side of Allentown as we toast Sleepy Cat Urban Winery on their 10th anniversary.
Sleepy Cat was opened in Allentown in August 2016 by the husband and wife team of Mark and Carrie Gerencher. They had been making wine at home as a hobby for the previous four years. They opened with 11 different wines. Fast forward 10 years and Sleepy Cat has one of the most expansive winelists in the Lehigh Valley with more than 30 different varieties--red, white, rose' and fruit wines, dry, sweet and everything in between. Wines are fermented onsite from grapes grown in Chile.
They have sandwiches, paninis, charcuterie boards and other snacks, so plan to have lunch with us as well at Sleepy Cat's eclectic yet unassuming urban space.
And did I mention Sleepy Cat is haunted?

West End Allentown Doubleheader: Illumination/Funk Brewing and Weyerbacher
Illumination/Funk Brewing West End Taproom, 2114 W. Tilghman Street,, Allentown, PA, USA couple of our Lehigh Valley mainstay breweries have opened taprooms in the west end of Allentown in the last year or so. With the way things are changing in the local brewing industry, let's check them out while we still can.
We'll start with drinks and lunch at Funk/Illumination Brewing's West End Taproom. It's a full-service restaurant featuring a selection of Funk drafts and canned beers.
From there, we'll head a few blocks away to Weyerbacher Brewing's Allentown Taproom and Biergarten, a mostly outdoor space adjacent to the Allentown Fairgrounds. No food there, but plenty of classic Weyerbacher beers. If you want to stick around for dinner, the Fairgrounds Hotel is right next door. Other West End Allentown mainstays like Ringer's Roost, Henry's Salt of the Sea and Tavern on Liberty are close by as well. Live music on the outdoor stage at Weyerbacher at 6:30.

Beer and Ping Pong at Lost Tavern Brewing at Court 25
Lost Tavern Brewing at Court 25, 4636 Crackersport Rd., Allentown, PA, USOh no, are we getting to the end of another Meetup summer? Looks that way, but we'll keep the summer vibes going with this event at Lost Tavern Brewing's Allentown Tap Room at Pickleball Lehigh Valley's Court 25.
Located on a converted basketball court in the St. Luke's Sportsplex/Pickleball Lehigh Valley where Routes 309 and 22 meet in South Whitehall Township, Lost Tavern's Allentown Tap Room is a unique space where sports and recreation are promoted along with the beer.
With this in mind, we will have our very first meetup ping pong tournament. Apparently, you can play beanbags there too and soon, perhaps by this meetup, a golf simulator as well. If you want to play pickleball in the adjacent space, you certainly can (for a fee) but those of us who will be drinking reserve the right to heckle you.
I'll have more details as we get closer but sign up now for a fun way to cap off the summer.
See you there!
