What we’re about
This group is about Brunch, Lunch and Dinner events, and sometimes other special events - music, movies, and outdoor events! We will focus on Somerset, Union, and Middlesex Counties, but some other great dining venues and special events could be outside this area. Suggestions are always welcome too!
In addition to our once or twice a month weekend brunches, we have one or two weeknight ethnic dinners per month at interesting little venues. We also have special dinners every so often at an upscale place like Lobsterfest at RATS at the Grounds for Sculpture, or holiday dinner at Ristorante MV or Scalini Fedeli, or exploring the waterfront and NYC skyline at MOLOS in Weehawken.
This group is open to both men and women, perhaps 45+, and is NOT a "girls only" group. We're celebrating mid-life, the good life! We are not about "crowd entertainment" so you won't find 20 or 30 people at our tables. We strive to offer dining events with smaller groups of 6 or 8 or 12 that foster a fun yet elevated ambience.

A lovely springtime Sunday Brunch in Bernardsville....
Osteria Morini brings the soulful cuisine and convivial spirit of Emilia-Romagna in northern Italy to Bernardsville, New Jersey. Known as the Italian Breadbasket, Emilia-Romagna is also the birthplace of some of the flavors and ingredients most commonly associated with Italian cuisine worldwide: prosciutto, mortadella, parmigiano, and balsamic vinegar.
This dinner will be limited to EIGHT people. The RSVP system will open around April 1. After opening, if the event fills quickly, add yourself to the Wait List in case there are cancellations or we can get a second table.

Your deposit will be returned to you at the event (less $1 to help defray Meetup administration fees). Deposits are not refundable after April 20, Noon, unless you find someone on the Wait List who is willing to take your spot and send me the deposit. I will then, of course, refund yours.

Please know that there will always be some spots reserved for members who have been continually supportive of our group, some spots to accomodate those members in an outlying geographic area that we visit infrequently, and some, of course, for NEW members as well! And priority may be given to those who have consistently (and frustratingly) been on waitlists for our events. - A Perfect Italian Afternoon Dinner!Giovanni's, South Bound Brook, NJ$26.00
A perfect Italian afternoon dinner is planned at Giovanni's in South Bound Brook. This venue is new, really lovely, and gaining recognition FAST! The reviews are amazing, and Chef Giovanni La Corta is the youngest chef to have been featured on the Food Network by Guy Fieri.
We'll meet there at 4:00 PM to be seated for our early dinner reservation. While it's casual, there is white linen service, so please, no beach attire. Also, it's a BYOB.
I was able to increase the reservation to 16 people. If the event is full, add yourself to the Wait List in case we are able to increase our reservation further.
