So sorry we are currently closed to new members. I will review in the autumn 2025.

Welcome to Bristol Badminton Group!

If you are looking for a fun club to enjoy good games of badminton and to meet new people then look no further!

We are a social club and welcome all adult players. The games are organised and supervised. All sessions list the fees and players agree to the terms and conditions when they book.

There are three sessions:
- Tuesday evening at Fairfield school off Muller Road (all levels)
- Thursday evening at Horfield Leisure Centre (upper intermediate only)
- Friday evening at Kingdown Leisure Centre (all intermediate players)

All sessions are announced the morning after the previous session. Keep an eye on the site to secure your place.

Terms and Conditions

We are an adult only (18+) badminton club.

Players must book their place via meetup and then pay for their place on the same day either via paypal or bank transfer. Unless payment is received on the same day as the booking, the organiser has the right to remove players from the event and give their place to someone on the waiting list.

Our cancellation policy is 24hrs notice. Anyone cancelling after this time will not receive a refund even if your space/spot was taken up by someone else. ‘No shows’ are problematic as they reduce the number of players we have on court, and therefore the enjoyment of others. ‘No shows’ will result in a warning

If an event is full, members will have the option of adding themselves to the waiting list.

We run a warning system to ensure everyone can enjoy their time on court. ‘No shows’, lack of payment, unsportsmanship/unacceptable behaviour/language will result in a first warning and then a permanent ban.

Intermediate badminton (and beer) session @ Horfield Leisure Centre

Welcome to Bristol Badminton Group's Thursday's session for all intermediate players. We have three courts available at Horfield Leisure Centre for 16 players. We play with feather shuttles at this session which are included in the price of £6.

For those that would like, I am hoping we will go to the pub afterwards.

In order to play at this session, you should understand the rules, and be keen to improve your game. Although you may need to improve consistency, you will be able to serve, have a variety of shots, be able to move around court and hit the shuttle cleanly.

On arrival:
• Since the refurbishment, you will need to register to play this session and use the app or an everyone active card to get through the barriers.

• Please arrive 10 minutes early on your first visit to register onto the Group

• If you are already an everyone active card holder, please bring this with you and the staff will link you to Bristol Badminton Group. Next time you will be able to swipe through rather than queue.

• There is car and bicycle parking

Getting ready:

• Please bring your own equipment (shuttlecocks will be provided)

• Please bring easily identifiable water bottles for your own use only. You can fill water bottles on the ground floor.

• The centre closes at 10pm prompt, so if you want to shower, please allow enough time for this to happen before 10pm
