Join the nonviolent communication event that can help you improve communication skills, build stronger, more compassionate relationships, and resolve conflicts with greater ease. By learning to express your needs and feelings clearly while listening empathetically, you’ll foster deeper connections and a sense of mutual respect. It’s a supportive space to practice and grow in emotional intelligence and understanding.
Homework for you: think of a conflict that you would like to resolve.
Examples:
Interpersonal Conflicts with Partner/Manager/Peer such as using too much social media, too demanding, not understand/empathetic, etc.
At the beginning of the meeting each person will be given a piece of paper to write down their conflict anonymously. We as a group will vote on the conflict to discuss.
For the first 20 minutes we will talk about the feelings and needs of both parties in the conflict. What is the trigger, what their feelings may be, what needs they are trying to get met, what resolution they would like (20 minutes).
The next 20 minutes is expressing these feelings and needs in a role play where 2 people will volunteer to play out the conflict to try to come to resolution. (20 minutes).
Afterwards we will hear from the volunteers on their experience during this practice. We will also have a dialogue on the experience of the observers on how they felt witnessing the conversation (20 minutes).
If we have time and there is a desire, we can do this again with a new conflict.
Let me know if you have questions.
Quick reminder to update your RSVP 24-48 hours in advance or if you are running late, please let me know so that we can get started on time.
