What weβre about
Hello from Bi+Women!
Bi+Women is a private Meetup group. This means you have to request to join the group. A private group allows only approved members to see the event details like time and location. This level of privacy helps our members feel safe. Requests are reviewed a few times per week by the Organizer.
Bi+Women
This group is open to all woman-identified and non-binary sapphics who identify somewhere under the Bi+ umbrella. (for example: bisexual, pansexual, queer, or fluid). This group is not open to lesbian or gay women. This group is not open to men.
We recognize that everyone is on their own coming out journey and want to be a safe place for you wherever you are on the path!
Visibility Rating ππ€π€©
Each event has a Visibility Rating of 1, 2, or 3. We established this rating system so attendees could know what kind of queer visibility to expect at a particular event.
Level 1 π : Event is in a public or private setting with a Bi+ Woman member who is on the Leadership Team and will not be wearing any queer pride apparel. Host pronouns are she/her. Host will ask you your name and preferred pronouns. Host will not take any photos of the group.
Examples: Walk + Talk, Non-Monogamy Circle, Support Group
Level 2 π€ : Event is in a public or private setting with a Bi+ Women member who is an Event Host. The host has the option to take a group photo and post to our private Meetup photo album. Host will ask permission before sharing the photo on Instagram. Host may be wearing queer pride apparel. Host may also distribute or discuss queer content in a public setting.
Examples: Bi+ Bookworms, Knitting Night, Bi+ Brunch, Dinner Club
Level 3 π€©: Event is in a public setting with a Bi+ Women member who is the Event Host. Event Host and attendees should be comfortable in a group of out, proud, and possibly loud Bi+ women. Host has the option to take a group photo and post to our private Meetup photo album or Instagram.
Examples: Bi-Visibility Happy Hour, Marching in the Atlanta Pride Parade
Events
We usually host 2-3 events every month, including socials, a book club called Bi+ Bookworms, and free monthly discussion/support group meetings. 75% of our events are FREE! If you don't want to be in photos, simply advocate for yourself, and step out of the photo.
Event Hosts may ask you for your pronouns and will never ask you to out yourself.
Member Photo
All members need to have a photo in her/their profile picture, so we know who to look for at our events!
