What we’re about

Welcome to BIPOC Women Outdoors - Fraser Valley, BC!

This group was created out of the desire to bring together, empower, and support BIPOC women in British Columbia's Fraser Valley through connecting with nature, and each other. Whether you're looking to explore more trails, improve on your fitness, meet and connect with other BIPOC women, or all of the above, we invite you to join our inclusive and loving community! This group also was created out of the need to create a safe space for BIPOC women in the BC Fraser Valley to share their personal experiences, to heal, grow, and encourage others towards healing and wellness.
This group is for any woman who identifies as black, indigenous, a person of colour, or mixed race, and lives in or near the Fraser Valley, BC - Mission, Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Deroche, Hope, all the way north of Boston Bar, down to Sunshine Valley, etc.

Please note that this community was created for walks & easy hikes in nature (not difficult-rated hikes or scrambling), to create community and connection, and other events that the members would like to do together (ie. camping, summer festivals). This may change in the future if there are people who wish to lead difficult types of hikes (as that is not my preference), however at this time, we will focus on easy trails in and around the Fraser Valley, BC, and other activities that we can do together that allow us to connect and create community.

** As a member of this group, respect, kindness, and keeping an open mind toward other members is expected. **

Last, but not least, this is a volunteer-led group, everyone is responsible for their own safety, preparedness, fitness level, and comfort. The host/organizers are not liable for any injuries, accidents, or losses during events. By joining this group, you acknowledge that you participate at your own risk.
The organizer will make every effort to clearly describe the event details and level of difficulty, and it is the participant's responsibility to research the trail, assess their own readiness, and come to an event prepared with all the gear/food/water and awareness of the weather or trail conditions.

Let's get out there! 🚶🏾‍♀️‍➡️🥾
